Toyota needs to work on roll over though. In a recent test, 4-Door Taco tested last of 52 vehicles receiving two out of five stars. The Toyota offical stated that the 04 Taco will have "Traction Control" available to keep it on the ground. Traction Control? looks like the 04 Taco is going to use the 4-Runner platform Posted by: Gene on July 28, 2003 08:41 PM |

Do you think it's fair to say a vehicle like the Tacoma '03 and previous years would ever be able to resist rolling over as well as say a Lexus SC 430 which is wide and very low to the ground? The Tacoma is a prodiguous offroad vehicle by design. Part of what contributes to this is it is a compact truck with good ground clearance, a narrow wheel base compared to the sports cars in the test, and a narrow profile to fit into those tight spots. It's ALMOST apples and oranges. I think the guys who buy into a Tacoma know what they are getting into. I don't think it takes a brain surgeon to point out just by the stature of a vehicle what is more and less likely to flip. This stuff about the Tacoma flipping more so than other vehicles is almost as much of a no brainer as that of Toyota Tacoma being the most dependable in it's class. Like Duh, tell us something we don't know? |

The only reason Porsche is first is because not many people have them. Posted by: caslim on July 29, 2003 07:12 PM |
