Default Add LED to Factory Alarm???

I did a search and found similiar threads but didnt really answer my question-I have a factory alarm from toyota and i have a Blue led mounted above my ac vents(seen below). I want to wire the blue LED to the toyota unit so that it blinks when the factory alarm is on. The factory alarm has a small box that is mounted under the ash tray and is red. being that my truck is lifted-the alarm light on the factory unit is hard to see and isnt very bright. I wanted it more visible. Below is pics of the toyota alarm unit and three wires coming into to it-they consist of onbe thick grey wire to one side and two wires on the other(red and white/blk). Then those connect to a harness which is a 4 wires come out of. I am guessing i just hook up the red wire of the alarm unit below to the positive of the led???anyone done this or know-thanks.

I'm not sure on that one. However, I do know that there are LED's out there that flash if you hook them up to power, to make it look like you have an alarm. I wonder if you need to get one like that and hook it up to the alarm wires.

i have a varad led that i hooked up to my aftermarket alarm ... with mine i just cut the wires that were going to the wimpy red led that came with my alarm and ran them to my new varad unit ...

with a little wire following (which it looks like you have all ready done) and a test light or volt meter, you should be able to do the same?

to get them to blink you need some kinda relay or something..I cant remember, but a friend of mine did it for his truck, only he put one in each headlight so they blink at the same time. Kinda creepy if your not used to it.
