Lightbulb Fender Rolling Tool

Anyone tried one of these tools for rolling your fenders? You can rent them all over the place...

My buddies rented one a while back to do their VW fenders and I guess it worked prefectly... I wish I would've tried it on my truck at that time

There's a good illustrated writeup at a Mazda site:

http://www.mazda6tech.com/index.php?...id=17&Itemid=1

... illustrating step-by-step how the fender rolling tool is used.

Below are attachments showing (1) the tool itself and (2) the tool in 'functional position' attached to the hub ...

... And here's a webpage for an outfit that'll rent the roller. This site has a writeup about procedure, as well as illustrations / instructions for the Eastwood Fender Roller they have ....

http://www.85xr.com/Fender_Roll.htm

The attached diagram illustrates the principle of how the tool works ...

... And there's another illustrated writeup on using a (Haweka) fender roller at:

http://www.overboost.com/story.asp?id=131

As was the case with the Mazda writeup cited above, it's noted that the trickiest thing isn't rolling the fenders - it's trying to accomplish this without cracking the paint.

Both writeups recommend using a heat gun to help prevent paint cracking.
