I had mine done by http://www.importperformancetrans.com/ on my 4Runner. It made a noticable difference. I was quite happy with the mod, and it was less than Level 10, and the guy (John, great guy) let me watch the whole process.

It'll be worth it for you if you plan on making 250 hp or more; it'll help your tranny survive.

I second sending your valve body to IPT. Had mine done and their service was great. Also, it's very easy to remove and re-install, just plan on not having your truck for 3-4 days.

??? it depends on how stiff they made the shifts. John (IPT) gives you a 1-10 scale to chose from, 1 being "soft enough to let a baby sleep", 10 being "whiplash dragster". Most people end up in the middle.

Did you get similar options with Level 10? If so, what'd you "pick"?

Level-10 has had mixed results the last couple of years. They used to be at the top of the heap, but kinda;' got expensive and sloppy. You may be experiencing that firsthand.

Save your pennies and get it done. I took the same attitude as you for about a year. And because of it, I replaced my tranny about 2 months ago. NOT a fun job.

I very recently had mine done at IPT. They have great service, and follow up. I explained to them that the truck is not a daily driver, and wanted it to be mostly for the track. I installed it, and really didn't feel any difference either. Thought I installed it wrong, so pulled it apart to double check my work, and all was good... I still don't feel any difference....

Hmmm... did you talk to John about it?

Everyone I know who has had the work done, even the mid-level work, has definitely felt a difference. Any chance that you're getting slippage from the torque converter?

edit: I just looked at your profile.... Are you N/A? You may not be making enough power to be able to get a good idea of what slipping "was" like before the VB work.

n/m... "boosted by the pimp".

I used the stiffest springs that come with the kit.I have chirped 2nd and 3rd gear before but its not consistent,I dont think its slipping.2nd just not as hard as 3rd,even @ 3000 rpm.it could be me thats way i was asking.
