Default Clutch...Opinions

What brand clutch do you think is the best on the market today. My application is for a turbo 2RZ w/ roughly 400-450whp. Which do you think will work best for this app?

400 -450 dam! You might give center force a call. Is the factory tranny gonna hold all that?

That's a pretty high number. What do you plan on doing to the engine to reach those HP #'s?
As far as clutches go, I personally am planning on buying an ACT clutch for my 2.4L Taco. Their modified performance clutch can handle 35% more power which should suffice for my purposes, but might not hold up to your power demands. Yeah, you might want to see if the stock tranny can handle that kind of power.

I'm calling LC tomorrow and am going to go over everthing w/ their techs as far as what I need. The engine is going to get the works done to it...forged low comp pistons, conn rods, titanium springs, etc.. The tranny probably will not hold that much hp...damn didnt think about that little detail.Well $#!t guess I'm gonna have to back my #'s down in order to keep the stock tranny for now. I am planning on this being a drag racing truck in the end if I don't kill myself first.

Yeah, before I decided to do the 5VZ swap to my truck, I was planning on just having the 2RZ fully built with a turbo, etc. I contacted LC about it and was asking one of the techs about reaching my power goals of 400hp and he told me that dropping the compression and boring 1mm over plus 15lbs of boost should help achieve that goal. Now that would be a bad ass setup! Good luck with your project.

If your gonig to build a drag truck you might check into a chevrolet powerglide 2 speed. The powerglide will be kinda hard to find since it is very popular with the drag crowd. Or maybe try and find a auto from a wrecked supra. I'm shur there are companies that make addapters. If your planning on getting into real no shi* drag racing the auto will be your best bet. You will be way more consistant with an auto than you would be with a manual. Make a few phone calls to see what you can find out.

Hey thanks for the info. I figured if they can help build one w/ 1000hp then it shouldn't be a problem to build one w/ 400 or so. I plan on doin this right the first time to keep my costs on parts down.
