Default crawl through into bed

Does anybody know of a site with info on doing a crawl through into the bed from the cab to flush mount speakers to the cab with the box in the bed... I really want to do this, but I'd like to see some info on the process before I settle in on the idea.

Thanks!

I have seen this done before using an acordian boot to seal the opening between the cab and bed. I don't know of any pictures of this. Basically you cut a hole through the bed first then cut the cab.

my brother used to have a lowered dodge D50 that was somewhat like what u are talkin about....dont know if he has any pics(it was in early 90's and we dont live together ) ...i'll try to get some pics ...he had 3 10" orion subs in a cut through to his cab....he had to move the bed closer to the cab and used a small plasma to cut through and oval hole through them both...then he used a very thick rubber striping that fit in beetween the two...this strip that he used i will try to fin as it has many grooves in the side of it the the sheet metal slides into...i thought it was a marine material bit not sure...

I am having an impossible time finding info on this online, you would think that anybody having this done would want to document it, but I can't turn up squat, then again I can only come up with pretty vague query strings to search with, turns up a lot of useless garbage mostly.

I know several guys that have done this to different types of trucks. You can use a rubber boot that is made to seal a topper. I', trying to find pics online of a guy in my club with a tacoma that has done this.

its not as difficult as it seems..the rubber strip is the hard part....i don't think anyone makes a grommet for just this....my dad owns a boat trailer manufacturing shop and i know my bro got the striping from one of the marine accesories catalogs my dad had lying around...i'll try to get some info from him when i get of work today ...i know the big problem was sqeezing the grommet in between the bed and the cab and having a tight seal around the whole cutout...and my bro did it all from his own head so ...i'll keep you posted

Sweet, I would really like to see a pic...where would you get the rubber thing from, and how can you shape it...like is it pretty stiff and already sized for a topper, or is it just like a strip of something? Thanks for the info.

the piece my bro had was to large at first and had to be cut...since it is rubber it is pretty flexable..i'm still trying to think of what the piece was used for on a boat.....if i come up with it ill let you know ..otherwise i would look into getting just the rubber for a topper from a co that makes them, but in my exp in the past getting just one piece you need from a whole product is usually difficult, the manfctr never seem to coop and state "we just dont sell only them" or just plain "no"

yeah, that would pretty much be the attitude I'd expect just trying to get one piece of something, maybe one of the local truck specialty shops can do something for me, if you can remember what the boat part is that would be great, there's a great marine supply place just a few miles from my house.

Thanks.
