Lightbulb The weight of different rim/tire combos

Within the next couple days, I'm going to weigh my stock (full size spare) tire, my stock rim with 205/60s and my chrome 18s with 225/40s to give you guys some ideas on different rim/tire weights.

Man, 25lbs in nothing. Stock S-Runner wheel/tire (16x6.5 aluminum with 235/55 rubber) weighs 47lbs. My new wheel/tire (17x7.5 with 245/45/75) weighs 49lbs. Yes, thats each. Damn, I gotta get some stockers if they are really running 25lbs. That'd be 200lbs of unsprung weight removed .

well, i don't know if you guys are talking about just the wheel or the rim and tire. i'm talking like the combo of my old stock rim/tire compared to my new rim/tires. we had to switch them when we drove to phoenix cause i didn't want to drive with my brand new rims...and just in the exchange, i noticed the difference. i couldn't even lift up the stock ones.. (that's what chris is for )... and my new rims, i could lift and put in my bed all by myself. so, i don't have the exact weight difference, but i noticed the diff. right away.

well when i changed my wheels, i put the stocks and aftermarkets on the scale.
jimmy, are the srunner rims really that heavy? what size are they?
i thought my 18s were heavy as hell.
tacogrl, don't you have 18s too. they should be heavier than stock, especially chrome.

Comasutra, I'm positive on the weights. I weighed the SR wheel/tire and my Alessio wheel/tire back to back when I switched them. (Correction to my previously stated tire size, I have 245/45/17, not 245/45/75 ). The SR wheel is 16x6.5.
