Default tire size help

time to replace the tires ....
i'm a little confused though...from what i read, the original tires are 225/75/r15. what i have on there now are 265/65/r17 and i'd like to keep the same size. shopping online at sears i get a message that the size i have now will not fit. obviously they do bc i have them now......
i dont want to get tires that are visibly smaller (in fact i'd like them a lil bigger). can someone tell me what tire sizes will fit and maybe recommend a site that has better prices?

fyi...rim size (diameter) is 18.5"

thanks
cadman

thanks for the replies...
i'm going for looks, not offroad. i'd lile them a little taller. i plan on getting wheel spacers to push them out just a little.

If you are thinking about getting different wheels? You can get them in a negative offset & that will make them fit so that they stick outside of your fenders. I have a 2001 Tacoma & the stock offset is +12mm on them which keeps them inside the fenders. Hope that helps.

I have a 04 taco with 3" adjustable bilstein struts and taller shocks in the rear with add a leaf springs. I have p2657017 right now and i like them just fine. If you put in a 2" strut riser plate they will not rub the factory fenderette. Every size you go up 65-70-75 is an inch gain in diameter for each size. 265-275-295 is your width. I buy new tires every year and i sell my tires before the 1st 3rd is worn off of them. I have literally tried 7 different tire brands\styles in the last 3 yrs. I love fresh tires all the time!! And since i sell tires it cost me nothing and usually i make a $100 bucks doing it. i just put on some nitto terra grapplers on friday! I just sold my old falken high country's for $500.00 The new tires cost me $111.00 each at cost. retail $179 each. So im in for $444 and a $66 profit off this set.
