700lbs Spring Problem

Hey how's it going guys? My name is Daniel. This is my first post here on Custom Tacos. I hope you guys can help me out with this. I'm sorry for the long post but i REALLY need help...

I have a 2000 Taco Single cab 2rz and I have the QA1 Coilover kit with 350lbs springs. My plans are to drift this truck. So I bought the 700lbs springs from Summit Racing part # 8MB700. But.... the springs' specs on the site were incorrect from the specs of the springs that I received. The specs said the springs go from 2.500" inside diameter to 3.500" inside diameter. When I received the springs they were 2.500" inside diameter to 3.750" inside diameter. I tried them out and they wont fit...

So then I shipped them back and explained the situation. I received the new springs and they were the same darn thing...

I contacted Summit once again and they couldn't figure out the issue. I called QA1 directly and they couldn't find the issue either...

So finally what I wanted to ask all of you, Have any of you ever used the 700lbs spring rate? I know people have used the 600lbs springs which is part number 8MB600 but this part number is similar to what i ordered. and I do not want to have the same issue with the 600lbs spirngs...

What do you mean when you say neither Summit nor QA1 could figure out the problem?

Couldn't either one of them confirm what the higher inside diameter measurement is supposed to be on the 700 lb. springs?

No, they could not confirm that... Summit didn't even want to check. I asked them multiple times but they just won't measure the springs for me..

QA1 said that they were going to "investigate" the issue and that they would give me a call back. I haven't heard from them since the last time I talked to one of the guys at QA1.

I really want to know what are the part numbers of the guys on CT using the 600lbs spring rate and if anyone is using the 700lbs spring rate.

I've found places where folks have referred to 700 lb. springs, but I couldn't find any trace of anyone claiming to have actually used them.

Yeah that's all I've found too... Any info you might have on the 600 lbs springs? I think Charlie Q used them when he was drifting his truck but I'm not sure on the part number...

I have them on my truck. They fit. I haven't had a chance to drive around yet. I believe I have part number 8mb600. I can check when I get home.

Is it just that the top and bottom of the springs diametor are too large/small?

Return em..

Call qa1 for the right spring specs, part number and order again..

Its only at the top of the springs. The diameter of the top is too large and it wouldn't fit the spring seat. The bottom diameter was perfect and the specs were correct.

I tried returning them, once I received the new springs I still had the same problem.

I also contacted QA1 and they couldn't tell me the correct spring. They didn't even have an explanation to why the specs of the top of the springs were incorrect. Its supposed to have an inside diameter of 3.500" but instead it has an inside diameter of 3.750"

QA1 told me, "That's strange, we measured the top and you are correct. But we can't tell you why the specs are off"

It really bugs me...
