bucket seats
does any one know if bucket seats from a 96 runner would fit a 2004 tacoma

With some modifications - yes.
4Runner seats have been a popular transplant into Tacos. Rummage around in the CT archives and you'll find multiple reports on what's involved.

It's going to take some modification / tweaking on the seat mounts, but yes - they'll fit.
The hard part is always the mounting. Like I said already - you can find plenty of info on what's involved in the CT archives.

read a tech article on bench to buckets, seems 3 holes line up but the one in the back mounts on the tranny hump not the seat belt mount, i wonder if toyota on the 04s they had that drilled out, that would be nice cause then they bolt right up i hate drilling holes in my truck like that
