Hi all,
I wanted to know if anyone could tell me how/where to find my fuel filter on my '99 tacoma 2 wheel drive? When I did a google search for it, it said 'under the driver side door. When I looked there, all I saw was the frame. Can anyone help me find the filter please? Thankyou.
Did you go underneath and look at the *inside* of the frame rail? I believe it should be attached to the inside of the frame rail, more or less directly under the driver's seat.

If it's a 2RZ, I believe the fuel filter is somewhere in the engine bay under or around the manifold (where it's a PITA to work with ...).

Sorry I do not know what a 2rz is. I have a 1999 Toyota Tacoma, 2 wheel drive, 4 cyl I think, regular cab, bench seat. I looked again underneath my door behind the frame....it is very hard to squeeze under there. So unless I could find a friend with a lift, or if it is somewhere else where I can access it from under the hood, I will pay to have it changed. I've been running my tank to fumes alot the past many months, so the fuel filter must be pretty dirty, I would think. Was just trying to save money by trying to do it myself. I've been going down in gas mileage lately, not much...but every bit counts when you don't have too much money. Got 22 mpg on my last tank, and usually get 23-24 depending on how much freeway time I get. I hyper-drive as much as I can too, otherwise I'd be getting 20 or less.

Do your wheels have 5 lug nuts..? If so it is a 2rz.
