valve cover
guys i own a 04 taco 2rz just sent a member on this site a paypal payment for a spare valvecover i wana paint, i belive his cover came from a older tacoma that had a distributor, does all 2rz valve cover work with eachother

I can tell you that the 2001 - 2004 valve covers were designed to work on LEV (California spec) engines (which weren't used on Tacos prior to the 2000 model year).
2RZ valve covers for models prior to 2001 carry a different part number than ones for 1995.5 - 2000. I have no idea what difference(s) there may be between the two ...

the valve's on top (PCV and the other one, not sure what its called) are different from 95.5 through 99 and 00 through 04.
i don't see why it wouldn't bolt up and fit though...but you have to remember you have coil on plug where as the one you bought is possibly off a dizzy motor which has plug wires versus just the plug boot. and also where your coil on plugs "bolt" to the cover (the one 10mm bolt that holds the pack and boot down) the older model may not have that...nothing a tap and die set couldn't fix "possibly" my .02
