Dealer installed my TRD S/C & URD 7th injector kit 1/17 with plug & play harness,&walbro fuel pump..Gadget did all of the connections pier to sending harness (great guy),dealer just had 2 wires to hook up.. ran great , no problems at all..1/19 did a stop and when tryed to leave, engine cranked, but would not start,on 3rd try it fired up and ran great..morning of 1/20 fired up no problems, later on, cranked again but no start, called dealer went back out to truck it fired up..dealer thinks my fuel pressure is bleeding off when stopped(but intermittent) thinks a fuel pump check valve ? does a walbro even have a check valve? (new walbro 190 from urd 7th kit).. made stop on way home (about 30minutes) took 2 trys, just cranked, finaly did fire up..noticed now when it is running the idle shows about 300 rpm ish at idle? I did not notice idle rpm when I got the truck back from install, just that it ran great..looking for problems, noticed that on the new fuel log the center hose is not tight against the yellow cap,but did not appear loose..have an appointment with the dealer 1/23,but at about $90. per hour, help!

Did the dealer install the pump as well? It does have check valve, when you turn the key on it automatically turns on the fuel pump for a few seconds presurizing the system, so that could be an issue, would need to moniter fuel pressure to be sure..try and start the truck within 3 seconds after you turn the key , or cycle the key to on 2x before trying to start to build pressure and then try to start.

I went out and did that...turned the key on and I heard a ticking sound after 3 or 4 seconds It fired right up and idle speed was at 750 rpm...turned it off and repeated 3/4 seconds fired right up again.. so is that just a "nature of the beast " wanting 3/4 seconds before I fired the truck up ? or am I getting bleed by on the fuel pump when let it sit ? Yes the dealer installed every thing S/C ,urd 7th injector kit ,plug&play and the walbro 190 fuel pump..( the tech really liked the URD kit).~Danny PS: found an old thread 09-19-2011 Gadget stated on the walbro pump " No,the pump does not prime" the ECU will command the pump to start only when it sees and RPM signal coming in from the engine.that is why it starts ands builds pressure when cranking.... so what was the ticking sound I heard? ~Danny

5vz does not prime fuel system until the there is cranking rpm, it;s a son of gun t get a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail. I had to bend the rear timing cover and try 10 different fittings to make it work.
low rpm cold idle try crank it and keep your foot on pegged to the floor the whole time.

nothing happens until your cranking, not even static pressure from previously running , guage reads zero until cranked then you can hear my noisy 255 fuel pump over the starter and straight piped exhaust
My major cocern is that this truck is my daily driver...for work & play..put on the S/C & 7th more for pulling my boat though the mtn passes going fishing... as it is I,m concerned about not starting when I stop for fuel etc or on the boat ramp try to put the boat in the water...also I sometimes go off roading in the middle of no where....so at what RPM does the pump need to turn to bring up the pressure ? and what is that "ticking" ? any other suggestions would be great and thank you~Danny
The pump will activate as soon as you crank the engine, so as soon as the crank sensor detects movement the pump starts working.
I´ve had a similar problem with my setup, after I drive and park the truck, shut off the engine, if I try to re-start the engine after 1 hour or more it will be a hard starting one. At first I had trouble starting it when that happened but now that I know it happens I just crank it a little bit longer and it will still be rough but it always starts. I´ve checked and changed a lot of parts and still does the thing. i have almost get used to live with it. Every now and then I try something different without any luck.

I dont think your problem is from the mods. Urd has good quality products and support
when it is at a no start condition, stick your gas pedal on the floor and crank it, if it starts it's not a fuel problem. if it still won't start jump the starter realy at the engine fuse box if she fires it could be the nuetral switch etc. ectc etc . i am just throughing darts in the dark ,
Clutch switch nutral switch there is a host of simple things it could be
ticking i think he means the circut opening realy or fuel pump relay there a known to go bad and i have personally seen them intermitally f- up. There on national back EVERYWHERE dealers parts store,,, for the 22r the older toyota engine's i had to dig one out of a junk yard to fix my friends truck's. there like 100 bucks new junk yard guys knows whats up and charged me 80 $. f i am not sure if they are the same from pre-taco -taco.
