Well, I would say that an official start to 2009 would be a sign up thread.. Not a "I'm thinking about it", but an actual "count me in" thread. This way, as we contact the ranch in early summer to make the arrangements we have a "mild idea" of how many will be attending. And we can try to negotiate the ranch's rates based on the number of attendees. Maybe Randy can set something up for us that will work..I can contact David at the ranch to ensure that our normal 2nd weekend of Oct. is available.

if you set up a sign up thread for people that want to go why don't we figure out on how much a person and start paying for admission now up to a cut off date

Well, without having a "number" of peeps attending. We cannot negotiate a price with the ranch. Last year, we had (Jeff had) to pay for a 150 minimum number at a set price.. If we actually had say 100, we may have been able to shave some of the cost off the price, if we had 200 we could have definately saved money per person.. So, its not as easy as setting a price.. Figure it like a wedding.. you would not pay the caterer without knowing how many peeps you are inviting beforehand. Its all about the numbers, more come, should be less for everyone.. Less come, it will cost more than it did last year.

And in retrospect, I am trying to be nice about this. Because if you went thru the previous Tacoberfest threads and counted the "I'll be there" posts.. Well, hopefully you get the picture.. The last thing we need is to tell the ranch 150-200 peeps and only get 80.. If that happened, everyone's (of the 80 attending) cost would almost double.. Which is not fair, but... Its all about commitment.. If you say you are going, then please do.. If you are not sure, then do not post up until you are 100%..

LOL.. damn.. Ummmm, I just posted up that "maybe" Randy (Enola) could start us an official I'm coming thread.. Give him 5 or 10 minutes, will ya?

sorry for being a eger beaver but i my work wants me to give them a vacation notice ahead of time and megan's work is the same

For 4 of the past 5 years, Tacoberfest has taken place on the 2nd weekend of October. This year, to my knowledge should be the same.
