I'm not sure if this has been posted here or not, yet...
It's a site dedicated to tracking of repairs and mileage of all cars... the best part is, all the data is submitted by vehicle owners, not manufacturers.

I frequent this site to log my repairs and fuel mileage for my 350z and to get ideas on how other vehicles fair on their reliability results.
The guy that runs the site, Michael Karesh, is pretty active on alot of online car forums but I haven't seen him here and his site has no Toyota Tacoma information!

I hate to be negative, but who's going to really believe the stuff entered? I can sit here and type a list of stuff a mile long, doesn't mean that's true.

You can't take the results to a tee, so to speak... Just one of many guides to help folks though buying decisions... Like Consumer reports... You can't take that as gospel either, just a guide.
Even if you assume a 5% disgruntled entry figure, the numbers will be harder to refute as long as the sample size is large enough.

Pip has a good point. If I were to have based buying my current truck on the comments from this website I'm not sure I would have purchased it.

I think keeping copies of your receipts is probably your best bet for that sale purposes. I like the fact there is a place to go for your own records though. I'm always doing maintenance and sh*t and I'm too lazy to log it

I conduct this survey. Many people have raised this question. In reality, though, the hard part is getting people to participate, not keeping them from reporting made-up repairs. There are other reasons this isn't a problem, but the effort involved, small as it is, is the main one. If you're going to spend a minute on a survey, you're most likely to spend it reporting things that actually happened.

There are 164 Tacomas signed up so far. A good start, but not yet enough to include any model year in the main survey. The 2005 is closest, and three short of the minimum.
