Default VB upgrade finished

Just got my valve body upgraded by John (Transdude) at www.importperformancetrans.com and it works great. It shifts a lot quicker and firm. John did a great job with all the customer support I could ask for. Removing and replacing the valve body wasn't very hard at all. Using 3 day shipping it only took a week from start to finish( to California). Next day or 2nd day would have been quicker.

Driving around town the shifts are firm but very tolerable. At WOT the shifts are quick and very firm which is exactly what I wanted.

You guys that are boosted should give this mod some serious consideration---it will save you clutches. Get in touch with John. He is a damn nice guy and easy to do business with.

I'm just curious... what was the total cost when it was all said and done? I know that I'd have no problem doing this mod, but i just wanted to know how much i need to save up. Thanks in advance!

John charges 495 for the upgrade. The only other thing you will need is 5 to 8 quarts (depending on whether you have a 4X4 or not) of tranny fluid. Shipping to California cost me about 100. All total my cost was about 615.

I have put about 100 miles on the truck since the upgrade and I really like the way it shifts. Dave

Nags----Get somebody to help you with the mod. If nothing else, try to find a local tranny shop to remove the valve body, then send it to John. When you get it back, let the tranny wrench put it back in.
If I weren't on the west coast, I would be happy to do it for you.

Dave

Where is Fremont in relation to Los Angeles? And what was the time it took you to pull the VB from start to finish?
