Hey 671, just a heads up, when i get back from this deployment the fam and i are heading home to Magnolia and im planning on doing the megasquirt swap...tell yer buddy he might have a new customer!

Shoot me a pm w/ some prices...i am looking at getting the MegaSquirt installed, putting in injectors that i already have and getting the head gasket and head studs swapped out (already have those as well).

Was there a year range or engine combo that these 8" rear ends were associated with?

1980's 2WD 5 lug had Beefier 8" rear ends. This could be an affordable place to start. Anything else will take more work and more $. Then if you blow the 8", you can look into going more custom.

All the 4 banger rear ends look to be a 7.5" rear end unless you got one from one of the extended cab factory turbo trucks? I haven't seen much in the way of aftermarket support for the 8" turbo rear ends..

Not only turbo models got the 8" rear. All older toys from I think the 7*-8* model toys got 8" axles. That's what we ran back in the islands for racing! You just have to look around at some junk yards.

I know a of a few places near me that have them if I wanted to do the swap. But, that's my little secret! hehehe
