because MS is awesome! IMO, MS is superior in many ways to other stand-alone systems, and for far cheaper. And if you are a computer geek like me, then it's fun putting them together.

No big reasons though hehe.

Not sure I would go so far as to say it is superior to other systems based on hardware/features alone. I would take a vipec, motec, proEFI or haltech over it based on features alone.

What it is better at is bang for the buck, there it is hard to beat. I also really like the open sourceness of it but for 99% of us that really doesn't mean all that much besides supporting open source movements.

That said I would have no issues running a megasquirt if budget was an issue (which it always is lol).

The 2zz coils are slightly longer IIRC if those are too short. They use the same coils for various other engines as well with different mounting arrangements and lengths.

If going MS though the only reason to go with the 1zz is for the cleaner look and lack of plug wires. The LS coils will work fine with MS.
