97 2.4 taco stock needs upgrade

hey guys new here want to upgrade my taco get some quick hp i got 5 gs to spend any suggestions

ps. i dyno the truck and im at 137 hp to the wheels and 147 tq

5g?? BOOST it for that u can get good HP im sure somone will chime in but there are alot of boosted guys on here

and you'll have plenty to spare on GOOD suspension upgrades and traction upgrades...your gunna need 'em!!!

i am about 4200 dollars in and that includes trutrac LSD, good used turbo, injectors, fuel pump, clutch, flywheel, intercooler, standalone etc. I also did most of the work myself so that saves a lot in costs.

man you are doing way better than me!!!

i just have a basic intercooled setup with boost gauge/controller, wideband and a stage 5 clutch and im at about 4k as well...i need to solve my traction problems...haha...tax return is when ill be able to get more traction, haha

x1000 on doing the work yourself...you will save a TON of money and learn a crap ton as well!

oh yeah forgot methanol kit and wideband, thats a good 600 bucks right there

You should do a write up on that meth kit install... if its not already done.

Stop asking, just build it for yourself. Do what you feel like and want.

If i had to start over with a stock truck. I would get a smaller steering wheel, short shifter, and a locker for improved noticable drivability.

Shoot with 5k, sell the 2,4 and drop an LS1 in with some bolt on's. I am a Toyota lover and 2rz boosted is great but the LS's are pretty bullet proof and produce a lot of HP/TQ with a couple add-ons.
