The turbo was cheap and in great condition, also my friend has a 2012 wrx and is going to give me his when he upgrades. I wanted to be set up for a Subaru style. What size turbo would you guys recommend then? Also what can I search for that will help me find this info? I've been searching every day looking for hints and info, but i can't really find anything relevant to what I'm looking for.

There are so many threads on turbocharging that you would have about a years worth of reading..
You wont find ANYONE thats used a stock subi's turbo because nobody would waste their time unless they fab and had parts laying around.

What flange style does that turbo use? Internal or external wg?
If you paid more than 20 bucks for that used subi turbo, you've been had because their about worthless used.

Get a manifold that uses a t3 flange for endless options..
Using the stock subi stuff is a waste of time if your looking for performance..
T3/T4 turbos are your friend..

Use the sites google search bar for any other questions you mite have.
You wont find anyone that I've seen trying to run that keychain of a turbo on a Tacoma..

Man this is just a post I should have made before I had a manifold and downpipe made...

The turbo was internally gated, but I bracketed the gate and had an external gate mount put on my manifold.

The twin scroll off an Evolution 10 is a TD05. I was wondering how it would do on a Tacoma, but it also looks quite small. You guys should see the turbos on the 3.5L Ford Ecoboost engines, those things look like they belong on a model car, it was hard to believe they are turbos and not small hairdryers.

well if you already have the manifold, you can look into purchasing one of these. Ive seen Evos put down good power with them(on higher boost of course).

Cheap upgrade and they seem to hold up fairly well.

I've seen some things about them. They look okay. I will probably get one when I can afford it.

That 20g will be ok. Just run em if you already have the manifold. It wont put down crazy power but its better than the stock ass 2rz! Upgrade in the future. What are your goals for power?

I haven't really got any specific goals, but I would love to blow the doors off of a stock mustang gt.

Depending on what year GT, you could accomplish that with 300 hp in a Tacoma quite easily. Mustangs are heavy.
