Default Run CO's at 2.5'' and avoid ball joint damage on OEM UCA's?

I'm curious to see if I can do this to avoid getting new UCA's. The objective is to avoid purchasing new UCA's to allow me to save hundreds.

Have anyone of you done it? If so how are your stock ball joints holding up?

you should be ok just as along you don't get extended travel co's and not set them any higher than 2.5". I don't know, maybe someone that actually running this set up will chime in

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking I should be ok, just not 100% sure. BTW, what are the actual structural differences in an extended travel CO and a non extended? I'm gona try to get the Icons.

I'm not exactly sure, all I know is that they provide more travel which the stock uca's can't handle. you should be fine with standard travel icons. there are tons of people on here that have the same set up

So many views and so little answers. Did I do something wrong?

i ran donahoe coilovers cranked up to 3.25" of lift on stock upper and lower arms for a couple years, wheeled them hard in the desert about once a month, whooping it up and hucking it... never had a problem with the ball joints..

Thanks for the reply, that helps a lot Mike. Say, did you ever sell your Icons?
