Glad you guys liked it. The truck feels so much better now, especially accelerating out of turns. I'll try to keep you guys updated on the progress of this truck. I've gotten rid of the supercharger for something better...

As for that turbo in the pic, it's a T67 hanging off a 2jz.

I like that you went from X to S

Are there any other possible tips you could toss out there for someone
who's never done anything liek this that's mechanically inclined.

I'm a pictures kind of guy

Question;

1. What did you use for the gasket on the 3rd housing?

2. Did you replace the end seals on the axle?

3. Is there anything you could do to prevent a lot of brake fluid loss while doing this?

4. Torque specs for everything removed/installed?

5. Any tricks for the rear ebrake removal? I looked at it a while back.. can't remember whats what..
1. A factory replacement gasket is fine. RTV works well too.
2. I did not replace the seals and I have no leakage issues
3. You could get little plugs to put into the lines to keep them from leaking but I didn't bother since I wanted to do a brake flush anyways.
4. I don't remember everything off the top of my head but I'll try and round up the numbers
5. The trick to remove it is to stick your finger as close to the cable end as possible and push upward to get it dislodged from the little U-shaped groove on the bracket. Easy as cake.

Nice write-up!

I had Speed Freek install mine... He has the required equipment (press, dial indicator, torch) and experience.

Was necessary to get new 7.5" T-100 carrier bearings. Good thing was no shims required, has adjusters instead.

I'll trade the slight (very minor) tire scrub for two wheel traction any day!

So we could smoke some mongo-sized crack outta this giant crack pipe...

Oh, also to heat the ring gear for easy transfer onto the TrueTrac.

Great write up!

When we did the LSD in the DCSR we were able to loosen the backing plates on the drums and pull the axles out far enough to pull the third member. It saved us from having to deal with the brakes.
