I know this has probably asked and posted a million times but I need some facts. I have a 2001 Tacoma Prerunner Ext cab. It's completely stock and does not have the TRD package. I need some help on tire size. Right now im running 265/70R16 (11S?). I want to get some all terrains that are a little bigger but don't want to have to change the gearing, have to lift it, and have minimum rubbing. A friend also said that I might have to replace the U joints if i get a bigger tire? So i need some help on tire size suggestions, good brands (of course bfgs), and anything else that i might need to know. Much appreciated. And i just realized i posted this in the wrong section : (
i have seen a couple xcabs run 265-75-16, but with stock suspension, there will be some rub on full turns... what you can tolerate for noise is on you...
if you want no rub at all, then stick to original stock size and call it a day...
Another newbie here; I've got an '04 reg cab prerunner 2WD. I have a line on a set of 18" BBS alloys from a Tundra. What size highway tires should I mount? I'm not into low profiles, just want to fill up my wheel wells to make it look better but not mess it up. My Taco is the daily go to work and ride around town vehicle.
Thanks
