in your opinion...when you install your blocks, is it better to jack up BOTH sides of the rear when installing or just one at a time?

Hello....Jack the rear end up under the chunk. then jack stand it just in front of the front leaf spring hanger, release the jack down and let the leaf springs hang. Loosen the lower shock mount and take the lower end of the shock off., and then start undoing u-bolts. It is simple as pie. Loosen both sides, then just pick the axle up and set the block in there. Done....
P.S. Helps if you have someone to help hold the axle from rolling forward. Good luck

well...i guess this is the real question because i've installed blocks before. Does it make a difference if you jack up one side at a time or simultaneously?

I did one side at a time. No harm!

did you guys use an impact wrench to get the bolts off?

I used my good old fashioned impact arm and a torque wrench.
If there is any rust or corrosion on the bolts just squirt some break-free or WD-40 on them and let them sit for 30 minutes prior.

well what I did was use a standard socket wrench and a 2 foot 2 inch pipe... you get more torque for less the power.. and a little spray of good ole WD40
