Tire experience-Riken?

Looking for tires to put on my XRunner rims, and keep getting Riken (generic Michelins) recommended, at the tire shops. It's not an X, just a reg 5 lug AC, and more interested in treadwear life, than "performance".

With a tire that size, it will be hard to find a tire based for just threadware. I have been tire doing tires for 2 years and I can say if you want to go bigger wheels you will give up threadware and comfort for performance, its just because thats the way the tire industry is, they think everyone getting 17s,18s,19s, and now 20s wanna race. so there is really no say threadware tires like the 15s,16s tires.
But as for Riken tires, I have seen people use them, the only complaint I every got was they are noisy, but other than that its a decent tire.

Well, I bit the bullet today, and ordered tires for my XRunner rims: 255/55/18. I know it's taller than stock, that's okay with me. Total price, out the door: $564.19.How'd I do?:D

how are the tires? i just go them today after paying 600 otd with all the road hazard crap. def couldnt fford the potenzas or even kdws so next best bet for me.

I didn't get the Rikens-the price I posted above was for kdw GForce 2's (flame design). So far, I like them, no more squeeks, feels waay better, even in rain. Mine is NOT an XRunner though...

cddallara, can you post a picture when you get the tires on? i never have liked the small tires on my truck. just wonder what the 55's look like.
