Just to let fellow Toyota owners know ..... I was going to work this morning and there was a wreck along the interstate that @%@#-up traffic. Anyway, one of the vehicles involved was a fairly new 4Runner ..... it had rolled over and was sitting on the roof. I was amazed!!!!!! The roof was supporting the entire vehicle with NO signs of collapse anywhere!!!!!! Way to go Toyota!!!!!!!

What year was your 4Runner? I had an '03 and '05 and never felt "completely" safe making sharp, fast turns...and I'm famous for those.

I do feel a hell of alot safer in my new Tacoma though. :)

Now I don't feel so guilty about trading in my 4Runner now.

One night I was coming back from dirtbike riding in gorman, at around 1 am there was no-one on the road but a few cars and a '00 ish 4 runner in front of us. we were doing about 80.

I hear my friend say "whoa, look"!... I look up and see the 4 runner veer off to the center divider (with a dirt shoulder), the driver over-corrected before he hit the divider, the rear end swung out in the dirt, and as soon as the rear tires hit the pavement the 'runner rolled and cartwheeled down the road five or six times at least, itwas a mess. As we were slowing down the 4 runner was still rolling as we pulled up next to it....Im literally looking at this 4 runner out of the passenger window coming to a stop on its roof at the same pace we were, it was a trip.

I jump out and see there are 4 people inside. I kick the hell out of the driver window with no luck, then run around to the rear passenger door, and its able to open, I pop it open and all 4 passengers crawl out....No harm done but a few bumps and bruises and some shattered confidence... I was amazed. there were no signs of roof collapse either!!
