The Fabtech requires cutting and welding, DIY would be "fun" if you ask me. Once you go fabtech, you never go back. Take it to a shop.

Did you already buy the Fabtech? The Pro Comp kit is all bolt up and no cutting. Un-install is possible if needed. I don't know which is better all around. I have the Pro Comp kit, got it the day it came out, several months now and it has been great so far.

I'll tell you right now, if you already bought a kit, California Concepts won't install it. They don't accept customer parts.

They are extremely pricey and don't expect the kit to be less than $2500.

I would try Up & Down Trucks in Santa Clara, they accept customer parts.

Redline Motorsports in Burlingame also accepts customer parts and they all do great work.

Get the ProComp kit, it requires less cutting for a 4x4 and NO CUTTING for a Pre-Runner.

California Concepts did my 3" RevTek lift for $1100.

If you time it right 4 Wheel Parts has 1/2 off sales on install and sometimes free install. I got the install free on the ProComp on a 4X4

3inch lift for $1,100? WTF? the revtek lift rides rougher than the toytec one, because of blocks, and i believe the kit is only $300... so you are saying you paid 800$ in labor?

the procomp lift does require cutting the cross member as do the fabtec, the procomp i believe is 18inches and the fabtec is 22inches of cross member section that is cut out.

wtf? I had the 3" RevTek lift installed (parts and labor) for around $380 and that included an "upgrade" to a long AAL.

California Concepts is not your standard shop.

They are the premier shop in NorCal.

If you are well off, this is where you want your car to be worked on.

Lol, I paid $1,000 for SAW Coilovers, Deaver 3-Leaf, Bilstein 5100's and installed it myself for free.

what could possibly make them worth 400% more than another reputable shop that charges standard labor rates?

This is Northern California man. Nothing is cheap here.

You pay for the name basically. To say you got your truck worked on there is really something. It's respected all over, every dealership knows the work they do. Even the dealers have the shop do work for them. Warranty stays intact and they have SUPREME customer service. Shuttle to your house, coffee and everything.

They are RIDICULOUS in prices, I can agree with that but I feel much better having them do everything for me.

To each his own!

To each his own!
that's basically what all the shops here, do... Nothing that justifys 4x the cost, imo.

I would probably go somewhere else now.

I did find too many shops that would install lifts around my area until recently.

I could have gotten D-Hoes and AALs all done for the same price! Oh well, we live and learn.

i know my own quality of workmanship when i work on my vehicle, bein raped for an install just to say you got it worked on by a certain shop is pure anal.

i helped with a lift install on a f250 turbo diesel 4x4, and all it cost the owner was 50$ and 2 nights of dinner at wendys. and i can easily say you cannot tell we installed it or a shop installed it...
