Speedometer Correction (for wheel / tire changes)?

im pretty sure ive read in the magazines before that if you change your wheel size your speedometer is going to go slower than what you are really going. does that mean overall tire diameter changes or just if you change your wheel size? and is there any way to fix this? i know that GM's have the power programmer that will correct it, so is there a cpu upgrade maybe to fix that?

That calculator says i'm .9% too slow going from a 195/75-14 to a 225/55-16. So if i'm going 50mph i'm really around 49mph?

ok this is great and all, but my initial question was is there a way to fix this difference? like the power programmer or something?

The only thing that I can think of is to change the new tire size. Either go with a 60 series tire, or keep the 55 series, but go with a wider tread tire.

ok it seems ive answered my own question. check this out. Dakota Digital offers something to fix your spedo after you change gear ratios, or tire size.
