i dont have a tv but i have a 5.8 in monitor where a reg cd player would go, i wanna know if any1 has the flip down from the ceiling model

i dont have a pic..yet gonna try and get a camera and post some of my mods soon, its an eclipse 5.8 in monitor, no dvd player (lookin for 1 on ebay to place under it) the picture is great crystal clear, i got it when it was brand new like a yer ago for like 1100 not sure how much it is not, i got a ps1 hooked up to it and the pictures r way sharper then of those on a reg tv, yeah its the flip up 1,it doesnt flip up by itself, u have to pull it up, bu it does go in and out of the dash by itself

yeah i got a flipdown unit it was kinda hard to install...i had to take down the headliner and j.b. weld some stuff to the roof because you cant screw it to there because its only 1 ply....it took bout 6 hours

What inch is yours and what did you have to weld?

its a 5.6 inch and it came with a flat mounting plate that i had to screw to the front(where the dome light and mirror were) and stack washers that were j.b.welded together to fill in the gap between the roof and the plate and i j.b.welded them into place

anyone tried to fit a 7" 16:9 widescreen in place of the factory head unit? that's what i've been pondering.... or maybe mod the cupholder thing to accept the screen and get it to flip down/up when you pull out the cupholder.... i guess you could hook up some motors and gears and get it to do it itself though......

I thought about using one of those flip down LCDs and flipping the screen upside down into a flip up screen. Than mounting it to the spot where the cup holders are too. Can't see it being too much of a problem

i have the 7 inch widescreen in my taco, its a kenwood monitir/amfm radio and i have a ps2 hooked up to it, i did the install myself, it was pretty simple. i even wired it so that the monitor opens while im driving so my friends can watch dvds or play ps2

My buddy has an Srunner with dual 6" monitors in the sunvisors. Wicked lookin. Especially in a taco!

i was looking for that setup too... i just can't find a good price for a dvd/lcd screen combo... how much are the sunvisors? that must be krazy expensive... but hella sweet...

I can get tv and all that good stuff for a good price since everyone on here is a tacoma owner. Roughly 150 a piece + shipping 5.6 inch monitor for the sunvisors. In dash dvd and 7 inch monitor is possible. That is what I am running in my truck. It has a really nice picture and plays dvd/cd/cd-r/cd-rw/mp3/vcd. I only paid 850 for it and it is a 1-din unit - meaning that it fits just like a cd player. It is fully motorized. All you have to do is touch a button and the screen pops out all on its own. and yes it pops up too..you have to do nothing to view it. leave me a message for info

I have a 6.4 inch in the front dash with a vcr and ps1 it wasnt hard at all 2 install..now im getting two 5 inch headrest tvs for 90 bucks a piece
