Deal of the Century! Want an off-road bed with 'glass bedsides? Look!

Ok guys, unfortunately it looks like my project is going to be ill-fated.... i have yet to find a D-Cab bed within reason price-wise, and at this point, the way gas prices are, i really need my Tacoma back on the road, because my 4Runner is killin me on gas... lol.

SO... Heres the deal. I need a basically perfect stock bed in trade, plus a bit of cash. You come here, we'll swap beds at my shop, and you drive away with my bed.

-Shaved Tailgate Handle

-21 Hours or so of pro-level bodywork involved in getting it to where it sits @ $75 per hour roughly...
-Primered in white, ready for final sanding and paint.

All reasonable (and some unreasonable) offers will be looked at!


your bed must be in pretty much perfect shape... no dings, no dents, NO RUST.

Prefer White! A white bed and less cash, will be accepted over a non-white bed and more cash..

The original intent was to install the fenders, and do a widebody in the rear since i am planning on turbocharging it, and was looking to put some bigger meats in the rear. It WOULD work out nice, and in mock-ups with the truck lowered, and set up, it actually looked pretty decent.

I did not 'give up' on it though... at first it was more a matter of "I have way more important things in my life and business to deal with than moifying this f-in truck".... so i put it in a corner for a while. Then, the idea came up to put the DCab bed on, and quite frankly, i do like that idea, and maybe even a tad better than the widebody... i did not, and do not have any sort of real 'plan' for this truck, so i'm basically winging it as i go http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif no harm in that, just that sometimes you do stuff that you later don't really care for, or would like to do differently.


Anyway, right now with gas prices the way they are, i just want to turn the truck back to stock (with a turbo though... haha!), and use it for what it was going to be used for in the first place, and that is a parts runner for my shop, because running around town in my 4Runner is killing me in gas.

I'll take a pic of it from the side, but i'm not going to go through the hassle of taking it off the rack it is on to set it on the ground so that you can look at it once, turn your head, and say you don't like it.

Now, if you are SERIOUS enough to come down here to Orlando, and look at it in person, then i will remove it from the rack, and have it on the ground. But just for 'net picture hunters, i'm not going to. its too risky anyway, i don't want to drop it.

CYi5/meemomark: Yea, i'm sure it'd move quick out there... lol. Shipping this wouldn't be too bad though. I've talked to a couple of shipping companies, and have a really good plan for shipping it if someone really wants it out there.

If you were in my shoes, you'd realize that there is no reason to risk damaging this bed over some picture hunters... you KNOW how the bottom of a stock bed rests on the ground... this is NOT going to be much different from that.. If you were serious, you would have at least called me or -something- about it, but i haven't heard from you yet.. its ok to be a window shopper who'll never buy anything, but at least admit it.. lol!

I don't get why people have to go on others posts, and make comments about the way someone chooses to sell something?.. if you want to know the price, or are interested in ACTUALLY buying this item, you'll probably not mind the PM tactic... This always works well with things of higher value... on small stuff i'll post prices, but on larger items, this works better most often <shrug>

why not just trade it for a dub cab bed.....why try to make a [censored] on it for the cost what you paid....you can find brand new painted beds all day for around 1K....if you are paying a lot more, then you are getting ripped.....

If someone wants it, i'm willing to bargain, even for a stock-bed trade... must be local, or willing to come pick up though. With my current schedule, i don't have enough time to move this bed around myself.

Yea, i'm shocked that no one has picked this up either... a have a couple of interested parties, but no one has come with the $$ yet.

Come hell or high water, i'm just going to finish the truck... i'm tired of it sitting in the corner collecting dust. I just finished another majopr project, and have some time to kill, so tomorrow i'm shopping for drop-parts.I'm going to do the farthest static drop i can, even if it means modding the front fenders.

Full c-notch of the rear, and slam it down hard-core.... maybe some of those composite springs, relocate the front spring perch, and french it into the frame rail... The only bags on it will be for towing purposes... i'm also putting a gooseneck hitch in it, and building an aluminum trailer for it to haul my racing Kart.... so yea, i have other motives to finish it, so i can get to the race track, but it'll be finished.

Bed is no longer for sale... not that anyone gave a good god damn anyway... :runaway: LoL!
