it says that the GEN 1 blower is no longer warrenty'd anyway.

Not sure about how much truth is to a rumor I heard on Wednesday, but.. Supposedly TRD is no more.. Gone.. Toyota is taking control of the TRD name, whether or not they will continue to market performance products as in the past is to be determined. URD is the second place I have seen offering the older style S/C's for a really low price. So, I'm guessing TRD blew out their reman'd units to bulk buyers..

We are not in a position to finance superchargers just now. Maybe someday.

The superchargers themselves are warrantied for one year. The warranty on the vehicle is another issue and to be honest, I would think that if you had a brand new truck and smoked the tranny in it and took it in with that supercharger sitting on top of the engine you should expect to have a problem with Toyota warrantying the tranny. The reason for this is that once TRD surplused these superchargers it was with the understanding that they had to be advertised as overhauled units to protect Toyota from warranty claims.

That is my understanding also.

As far as where you can buy these superchargers, it is my understanding that URD is the only place you can buy them from. We have a written contract that says so, so if anyone finds these units for sale by anyone that actually has them anywhere else please let me know right away. We have been negotiating the contract for a good while now and we finally worked out the final terms and took delivery of the units.

Gadget, I have a supercharger so there is not a need for me to call them to inquire about another. And while I fully understand your willingness to be an "exclusive" seller, I highly doubt that they (champion toyota) would take the time to post an item for sale that they did not have in stock for a price that is without a doubt an incredible buy on a supercharger only. If they were to do such a thing, they would risk any credibilty on any future sales, now would'nt they?.. Perhaps they obtained several superchargers prior to your "contract". I do not know, nor does it matter to me. My philosophy on any item up for sale, is to try to find as many sellers as possible to obtain the absolute lowest price between competitors. (being pennywise vs pound foolish) Thats the way sales works. Those that would rather make a little profit and move more merchandise, do. Those wanting to make all the profit on each and every sale, generally don't move as much merchandise as quickly. An old clich'e is "a piece of pie is much better than a stale pie".

All I know is that we were in the process of negotiating a deal on these superchargers and it was with the understanding that we would have the exclusive right from day one. We chose to proceed carefully and wanted to inspect the units and take delivery of them before we advertised them for sale. Now during this negotiation, we suddenly see the very same units for sale by another vender for a very low price.

I can only speculate as to how or why this happened, but it certainly heavily strained our relationship with company that we where negotiating with.

In the end we are not talking about that many units and they should all be sold very soon. They are not going to last long at this price.

Actually I am trying to do neither. When I had posted earlier that I saw them someplace else, I was "only" under the assumption that the rumor told to me last week concerning the "end" of TRD was in fact true. 1+1 = 2.. Deductive reasoning.. TRD is taken over by Toyota, suddenly I see a couple of ads for 1st Gen.S/C's, it was pretty easy to see the whole picture.
As for stating whom was selling them as a competitor. You stated, "to post up the information to you" as you were suppose to be exclusive. I have no problem with you being exclusive or for them being a competitor.
I for one would have rather heard from either one of you, the truth about TRD. Yes, they are getting out of the performance accessorie market, Yes Toyota may pursue the market, and Yes these were re-manufactured superchargers that were obtained at a low price and the savings are available to anyone wishing to purchase. I still think somewhere else I saw an ad where the seller stated they were "NEW" in the box without a warranty. But have yet to remember where I saw it posted.
I have no problem with you or URD. Its a business that you have developed to help Toyota owners buy the package versus searching for individual parts. Thus far it appears you have been a liable part of Toyota Performance and I wish you luck in the future.

Does this come with the CARB E.O. sticker?
I understand the upgrade kit you're selling wouldn't be legal, but what about the basic supergharger kit?
Being in California, that sticker is important.

About the TRD situation, the parts division of TRD has been moved under the control of Toyota Motor Sales' Corporate Accessory Division, so they now report to the VP of Corporate Accessories. The race engine shop will remain a separate group. My understanding is that all the folks in TRD's Tustin office will be moving to the Corporate Accessory Center in Torrance sometime in the next 6 months.

The good thing about this is now TRD parts will have conventional Toyota part numbers and be able to be ordered directly from any dealer. While there are a lot of new parts on the way for new models (like Scions) this doesn't bode well for those of us with non-current models (like my S-Runner.)

I suggest you contact URD directly with your questions, otherwise the limited supply will dissappear. I have no inside info, its just that I've seen deals slip away from me, and I'm passing along some advice.

It sounds like a great deal, and I just thought it would be good info for anyone thinking about picking one up.
