who is familiar with Honda's?

i have a '95 Accord LX and have a problem with the power locks. the switches wont locks the doors, only unlock. theres no sounds or anything when the switched is pressed down to lock. but if its pressed up, they unlock as usual. the only way i can lock all 4 at the same time is from the outside with the key in the drivers door. ive checked the fuses and everything seems ok. ive got a alarm on it, and the alarm works the same way, doesnt do anything when its armed, but unlocks the locks with disarm.

anybody have a clue or maybe some experience with this? i dont know if a relay somewhere is blown or if i shortsed something out somehow or if i accidentally unplugged something. no idea.....i need some help here.

You probably know this but on a honda to lock the doors from the inside you must pull the inside door handle while you hit the lock button or lock them with the key from the outside.

You only have pull the inside door handle to lock the door only when the door is open and only for the driver's door.

Since you say switches, I assume the switches on the driver's and passenger side doors don't function properly, correct? There's a power door lock control module that is located on the driver's door under the door panel. Since all doors do lock with the key, I'm assuming the module is ok. Chances are it's a wiring issue. The door lock switches switches may be bad but I highly doubt it if both sides don't work correctly.

The switches use sepereate wires for unlocking the doos and locking them. On my Honda (not Accord) the wire colors are green/white for the driver side and black/white for the passenger side. These wires go from the switches to the door lock module. From the door lock module to the door lock actuators, again, there are seperate wires that lock and unlock them. The driver's side is blue/white and white/red for the rest of the doors. Check the wiring for your alarm, maybe the installer did a poor job of hooking up the door lock wires. Check the continuity from the lock wires from the switches to the module.

Come to think of it... It might be a good idea to do the 'handle-pull' maneuver (with the door closed) and see if it works. If so, it might be the open-door sensor / switch that's messed up, and the central control system is fine... The doors aren't locking because the system thinks they're open and it's waiting for the handle-pull trigger... http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

my sisters honda civic and mom's accord could be locked while pulling the outside handle and pushing the lock down before you close the door...the key also works like mentioned above

Well I kinda figured that if you are pulling the door handle it was assumed that the door was open. http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doah.gif

neither passenger or driver switch will work to lock the doors. but the switch works fine to unlock them. the key can be used to lock them doors though. i know the alarm wasnt installed wrong because i did it. Accords have a loose plug under the dash that i assume is for a factory keyless system. all you need to do is cut off the plug and connect the alarm wires to it, ive done this before and its worked perfect. but mine wont lock with the alarm armed but will unlock with disarm.

i pulled the door panel today and found the control box. i know that on the drivers side switch, the orange and black/white wires are for the lock/unlock. i founf these 2 wires going into the control box and tried switching their places to see what would happen. with the 2 wires switched, everything would work but in the opposite way. i got some friends at Honda in the parts dept so im gonna try and pick up the control module and see if thats the problem. its the easiest thing to change so i figure ill start there.
