Ya so this was like the worst weekend ever I like totally destroyed my body kit. So does anyone know if there are any aftermarket ones available yet. I want to the dealer to get a price on the front and it was like $300 for the front left piece not including other necessary pieces for it so they claimed. So any help would be great.

Ohhhhhhh... http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doah.gif

I've seen no mention of any aftermarket kits for the '05's (yet...). For the time being, I think you're stuck with whatever the factory can do for you... Sorry...

Oh damn WTF did you do? Well I don't have the back and If I remember right I think I cracked my front right there. The back looks like you could heat it up from the back and pop it out, the front can be just repair paint and your good. I would think twice before lowering the truck muahahaha Thats whats holding me back from getting my X dropped when a kit comes

Was that a violent bump that ripped that thing out? Sucks that the molding took some paint too off the rear bumper?

I might take my kit off one day, just gotta see how the X looks without it... But yeah it looks totally repairable... Just take it to a body shop and have them pop it back out and reattach it for you...

I am not sure if thats paint or double sided tape, all that needs to be done is use a heat gun (VERY LIGHTLY) and pop that shiy out, then tape it back on

well I was backing up on this dark street and I couldn't see anything. and I thought I had more room then I herd a crunching sound(I was going like 5 mph) and thought to my self oh [censored]. so I got out looked and it dented the rear piece in and tore it from the top attachments so it was hanging and it broke the attachments on the side piece so I just ripped them off cause they were just going to drag and I threw then in my bed.

This is yet another good exmaple of how stupid and useless the kit / hood scoop is...

I unno, maybe this is a good thing... The kit that was useless took the hit and saved your functional bumper...

I mean goodness sake... 5mph... What a stuipd waste of plastic...

Less the scoop and the kit, there probably would be less rice audience to this truck...

well i think it still made a dent in the lower part of the bumper where the dent was made on the kit. But i'm not sure it kind of looks like the way the bumper was shaped but i can't tell until i take the other one off

What I mean was that if this truck didn't have the "for show" parts on it, it would be a lot more appealing to "performance oriented" individuals and less inviting to those that want to mod it for show only...

Not that theres anything wrong... More sales mean more aftermarket attention... However, this means theres going to be people paying extra on the truck's original price for such things as scooped hoods and kits that does nothing...

We all could of probably saved a few bucks if the truck hood was a regular Taco hood and the kit wasn't there... They could of probably put a tailgate lock on there or something with that saving HAHAHA...

That is a reason why the S is so nice. You could get it with or without the bodykit. http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/draggin.gif http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nana.gif

I agree... One of the reasons I decided to go S instead of X was I couldn't believe Toyota loaded the body kit into the standard package. It's not something I really wanted, 'cause I consider my truck a truck... Stealth should be the default (and economical) option, not the other way around...

If you do it please tell me how, I'm going to join you if it isn't butt ugly...

Variant, where is that CF hood? Please oh please have them do a mold for the scoopless hood too....

Right now I'm broke but I'm willing to take a loan out for a CF hood and tonnaue cover...

I hate that scoop with a passion http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Yeah I've been telling him already... Oh well http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

If I had a prerunner the first thing I'd probably try to get would be the color keyed grill... That chrome looks weird... Still better than the black they have on the STD cab Tacos tho...
