I know Nerf Bars and BL's have been brought up before and someone said that Manik makes them, but I can't seem to find any. Im getting ready to do a 3" bl and I want nerfs that don't have a big gap between the cab and the frame.

Anyone know who makes them and where I can get them?

Manik is the CT member that has the bars you are looking for but I do not know what brand he has.

do most nerf bars bolt up to the frame? so if they do, mine would sit 3 in. lower because i have a 3in. body lift? do i have that right?

yeah all the one's ive looked at (Westin, Smitty, Manik) all bolt on to the frame. If they bolted onto the cab i would not have that gap between the nerf and the cab. I looked under the cab and couldn't see where the nerfs would bolt onto.
I think Toyota's factory nerfs bolt onto the cab? I hope i dont have to get those cause i know factory stuff is expensive as hell!

I believe Toyota offered Steel Horse for their nerf bars.

O. Well i was looking at the Product information and it says this:
Mount to the frame or factory mounting points- no drilling required.

What are the factory mounting points? Are those on the cab?

This link says it bolts to the frame but it looks to me like it bolts to the body. This is from truckaddons.com. Manik tube steps (http://www.truckaddons.com/images02/Manik/tube_step02.jpg)

so i guess the factory mounting points are on the cab? Cause that diagram says bolts to frame or factory mounting points...

Yea...his name's definitely Miniac and I believe those are Manik step bars. Now that I got my body lift on (I'm writing an install article...should be ready soon w/ plenty of pictures!!!) the only thing that seperates my truck from Miniac's is his roof rack and tube steps.

I am planning on getting new brackets custom fabbed for my Westin bars that would still bolt to the frame and body.

Why do you want nerf bars, looks or function or both?
I would recommend Sliders, they will do the same thing and you can easily have them made to bolt on to a frame with body lift or even easier, you can have them welded on
IMO they look better and will serve the same function as nerfbars plus more, ie jack point, offroad protection, steps, looks, etc.
I am not sure if some nerf bars are more expensive than others but you could probably get some sliders for the same price

The bars that come from manik only bolt to the body on the d-cab the rest bolt to the frame I know because I have some on my truck). I am not sure about the single cab but from what I have been told you can order some from toyota that mount to the body.

Look what i found! For all reg cabs or people who want nerfs that bolt to the cab, i found these that do!
Dee Zee Oval Nerf Bars (http://www.truckstuffusa.com/blackaluminum4ovalsidestepsbydeezee.html)

I looked at the instructions and they bolt to the cab...at least i think so. Anyone have any problems or experience with these nerfs or Dee Zee itself?
