From the looks of it, with the proper engine / suspension system it'll give the XR the run of a life time... That thing is smaller which gives it a whole mess of advantages right off the bat...

Also note the sloped hood that gives driver better vision in the driver's seat...

Well, yes... That green goblin is a concept vehicle - also called X Runner - developed on an AWD Avalon platform by Toyota's design shop in Australia. It's actually a pretty interesting concept - it's got most of the features of the Honda Ridgeline, but it's not pretending to be a full-blown truck.

...And in case you're wondering - El Camino / Ranchero / Brat - style 'trucky-cars' have always been relatively popular in Australia...

Unlike here, in Oz they are called ute's, short for utility.
They also come in a van version which is called a panel van.
Very popular with the tradesmen.
Very common in Oz, had a number of them meself over the years..
I dont know why the only thing here closest to it is a camino or variant.
They're a lot of fun, especially with the V8's in'em, although I dont like the look of the new one's as much as the older models.

btw, those hideous things on the front of many of these ute's are called roobars............if youv'e ever hit a 'roo at 140kmh you'll know how bad they can fxck your car up and thats why they're there.

This looks like a Mustang with a truck bed molded to the back end. It's Ford's "Ute"

The only thing I hate about these things is the way they molded the front and back together... If there was a gap (much like that mustang look alike) between the bed and cab, then it would be dead on as a mini truck and less a "ute"...
