So I went there today just to find out they BSed me again and expected the truck to arrive today!!!
So I was like ok, whatever!!! We sat for an hour and I just asked them when do they expect shipments? The sales person had no idea and totally blew me off saying they had to meet with another customer who has yet another appointment...
So after sitting there for a good 1:45 mins, I just said fawk it... Seeing as how they can't even give me a damn time, I just walked my ass down the street to the Mazda joint and picked THIS up... Screw all that crap, I said I wanted a new car by Wed, they didn't deliver and totally screwed me...
I just picked the first black RX-8 there was... Got the car for Edmund's TMV price and that was the end of that... Totally pissed me off...
Screw it, this one is black and IMO the interior is better anyways... Fits me just right... Oh yeah for those that wondered how I was able to settle for this car, check out the mileage...

Slap a yota logo on there and you'll have then next best thing to a yota... something else posing as a yota... Still sad to hear that you didn't get your X-runner (although I think they should call them se-X Runners, cuz they are sexy)... hopefully you can get one another time... BTW how's the power on that thing... I test drove one last year, and I was bummed... they seemed to be more powerfull looking than they are... they are extremely torquy, don't you think...

the RX-8 has MAD top end... Everything from 3K to 7K has linear power... I didn't go any higher than 7K even tho there is realtively no break in period... Lets just say the car is a hauler... This was done with 4 people in the car too!!!

That's only if it is a 6sp tranny. The autos are worse on hp and about 10 better on the torque

I'm from San Francisco... and that doesn't look like a CA plate... how did you manage to get a license plate so quickly anyways? The DMV usually takes a couple weeks to deliver them... and that speedometer looks funny... I'd figure the RX-8 would be able to go past 120 mph...

It's not just the numbers, whenever you have an Accord that can stay with the RX8 i'm not that impressed. And I'm talking about the power not the handling. I will agree the RX8 will out handle a ton of cars out there. I just didn't like the power or lack thereof when I drove one. Plus the fact they burn "Up to a quart of oil" per tank of gas. I understand that is just how the rotary motor is, it's not a "bad" thing but I wouldn't want to go out of town and the wife at home with that car and forget and screw things up ya know. She's almost killed the mr2 a coulple of times already.
Nevertheless, congrats on the X. Can't wait to get mine, if you guys don't suck up all the black ones first.

I'm not telling you their hp isn't good. And I have raced one before on the interstate. As far as the performance of the rx8, there's not a lot N/A and it is also a 3850lb car.

Amazingly this truck's torque is huge respect in my book.. I cruise at 1K and shift at 2K... AMAZING!!!

Well they left a lot of water spots and I doubt it was done... They said I can come back next time for a free one... Seeing as how I got lots of twisties to visit while I'm still on vacation, I migiht drop by and take them up on it when I feel like driving another 100 miles...

Yeah you mentioned, but hey I'm guessing you all are used to truck torque...
Have you actually taken a look at the speedo when you drive it? let me just say I hit 85 without even noticing it... The test drive was purely done around 85 mph and the salesman was shaking in his pants...
You all know the car does 14.1 - 14.3 in the 1/4 right? Don't look at the #s, the rotary throws it off... Not everyone can do 14.1 - 14.3, but these were the actual slips given out by Mazda themselves...

lets see those time slips, i call bs. i have a car and driver that tested it at 15.0, wow even a shade slower than the x. having a decent amount of seat time in both, it sure doesnt feel faster than the x either.

Again, if you're going by feel, then you're comparing truck torque to rotary power... Thats 2 different beasts...
The 8 is not a slouch, I'd bet if you put some decent 17"s on there, the car will be an even bigger beast...
it's not the best car in the world, but IMO, next to the XR it's the best buy in the 25K region...
