Blangkang 01-06-2005, 11:10 PM I have got 8 or 9 yota from Crown toyota threw out the years, I have a guy who I enjoy doing buss with. Well he is getting my X runner at the end of this month hopefully (SpeedWay blue) and I am getting it for $23.500. Payments are going to be $340 a month ok. Or I can get the Xrunner from a dealer in claramont (tommarow) for $23,800 (same truck + lo jack and a new shift knob LOL) Well they first had a 3k markup on the damn thing so I was eh no beans and walked. They called me and said they can do $365 a month out the door with lifetime oil changes and also ditch the 3k markup. What should I do. The one they have is the second one in socal (from what they computer said)
Enola Gaia 01-06-2005, 11:17 PM Wait... I don't see that the Claremont deal offers any advantages -- other than letting you spend $20-some dollars a month for the privilege of (a) getting an X 3 weeks early and (b) maybe pissing off the local dealer with whom you've built up the relationship.
Blangkang 01-06-2005, 11:23 PM Good point, I know the guy pretty well and has never let me down. My gut is telling me to hold out, but my Teenager in me wants it now http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
He said he wouldn't let me down this time so I think I maybe should chill the Fawk out, I am just worried that something will happen to my trade in. Fawking shopping carts
Enola Gaia 01-06-2005, 11:27 PM If the Fates have reserved a shopping cart with your name on it, let it hit the current truck and not the new XR....
Blangkang 01-06-2005, 11:29 PM Yeah for sure, I am going to park my new baby at the VERY end of the parkinglot.
cam2Xrunner 01-06-2005, 11:39 PM I would wait til the end of the month and go with the guy you always deal with. It's the right thing to do. Not only that but I bet that other XRunner at claremont has had a few joy rides on it already. Also 25 dollars X 60 mos = 1500, 1800 if 72mos. You can get lojack for cheaper than that.
LeyvaTron 01-07-2005, 12:41 AM if you tell them to take lo-jack off and lower the payments, hey it can happen.
About the guy saying he can get it, I called like 20 dealers in so-cal they all said they can get it in a month or so. They say that, cause its businness, ya know.
Only thing is you delt with him for a while so hopefully he wont let you down.
I couldnt wait to get mine so I drove to San Clemente for mine.(only black I could find) [censored] wouldnt mark it down and it came with xmradio for a little extra. http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

S-Dad 01-07-2005, 06:53 AM I'd go back to Claremont and offer $23,500 out the door. That includes tax and license. Dealers are more likely to deal if the truck has been sitting in their lot. Also, always negotiate out the door price and keep your trade in separate from the new car buy...too many unknowns when you start talking monthly payments with trade in thrown in. Before you sign that contract take a look at the total purchase price of the vehicle and make sure it is the same as you negotiated.
TACO626 01-07-2005, 09:58 AM that OTD price and monthly payment is at 72 months right? http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/badidea.gif
Jonathan 01-07-2005, 10:03 AM im pretty impatient i would go get it right now. perfect time to go sliding around in some rain. j/k. but, thosse both are good deals, go snag one up and add you name to the collection,
Blangkang 01-07-2005, 11:56 AM How is 72 months a bad idea? This will be my 5th Tacoma since 01! No point in going lower.
Blangkang 01-07-2005, 11:57 AM Oh I am getting one, I think I am going to wait till the end of the month. Plus the X I am going to get isn't going to have the plate up front http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Jonathan 01-07-2005, 02:52 PM im on 72 months for mine, at 5.9 apr. what are you at? i dont think it would be much better.
Blangkang 01-07-2005, 03:01 PM I will be at the same I believe. My payments are going to be right around $340. I just wanna drive it already Fawk. I went and sat in the truck in claramont and man I almost cheated on my GF LOL. That thing is a SEXY Biatch
Jonathan 01-07-2005, 03:24 PM the only complaint i have is i have chips everwhere, and not even on the body kit or in the front really. like on the bottom of the doors and front corner of the rear fender flares. i am gonna do that 3m clear stuff asap. other than that........i still love walking out side to greet it every morning.
Blangkang 01-07-2005, 03:31 PM muahahahaha Where can you get that 3M stuff?
Jonathan 01-07-2005, 03:44 PM they have places all over online that sell kits, but those are too damn much. i am just going to buy a roll of 12 inch stuff, and do the whole bottom of my car, and most of the front. i think its going to cost me about 200 to do it, should be fun.
jon
Blangkang 01-07-2005, 03:48 PM Damn!!! Hey when ever you get a chance can you take some pics of the spots for me. I just wanna know where to put all the shiat
Jonathan 01-07-2005, 04:03 PM well here are the pics, and no that white stuff doesnt rub off, the paint is chipped. the other ones you could not see b/c it is so nasty dirty.but there are the ones on the side* looks like the big dirty spot), and the fenders. haha notice i had to clean it with my finger so you could see it. i also put in a clean pic at the end to make my self not feel so guilty for my truck being so dirty.....................

KAuss 01-07-2005, 04:36 PM This thread has offcially be hijacked http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Still, all I see is red paint dude... If you want to know what real paint chipping is, then get a WRX and you can measure the chips with a ruler!!!
I'm planning on doing a clear coat thing of some sort... My dad's Camry had it done back when it was new and for 13 years that thing just slips and slides when you put your hand over it after each wash... I can't find a paint chip on that thing worth talking about either over 130K miles!!!
Also, as for the 72 months... Do you know exactly how much of the total you are paying out of interest? All the car buying tips sites I've been to says anything over 60 is just a waste of money... So I'm just curious...
LeyvaTron 01-07-2005, 05:01 PM I also got the 72 month plan.
Reason for that is: if i give like another like 50 dollars itll make it 5 years. So JUST in case I cant pay those 50 bucks one month I just give my normal payment. Also a car depreciates, so im in no hurry to pay it.
Jonathan 01-07-2005, 05:06 PM i have a 6 year loan on my last truck, 02 prerunner v6, and after 2.5 years, i got 3k off the trade in. i only put 2k down on that thing. that is toyota resale for you.....but yeah i would like the extra money, and my rate is damn good.
X-Taco-Tarheel 01-07-2005, 06:18 PM Not to continue the hijacking but those chips you are getting, I have the same exact ones on my Black X. Both sides, right in front of the rear wheels.
