Silver X-Runner

So today I went to my local Toyota dealer. Went to check out the 05's and they had like 7 of them and a red x-runner. I ask the finance guy how long does it take to order a black x-runner. He told me there was a silver one coming in on Dec. 16 for 22,000. I was shocked. I thought the lowest was 23,800. So I hoped on that silver one. I gave a refundable deposit, so if I dont like it, he said I could get it back.

What do you guys think? I need some opinions....

There is no silver X-Runner and I doubt you are going to get too much off sticker. THe only colors available are blue,red,and black.

Thats what the Finance guy told me... he even gave me a print out with the price...
He said the numbers where solid...I kept double checking and double checking... 22,000 he said yes silver x-runner he said yes...
He said they had a red one in the w/h so he must know what hes talking about....Are you 100% theres only 3 colors Cam...

ill call him 2morrow again... just to make sure...

I can confirm dealers are getting misinformed about the Tacos... I too was told by the dealer about having silver XRs, but then they corrected themselves quickly after that...

There is no way in hell they can sell the XR for 22,000 flat becaue the invoice is around 22,3xx... I seen the actual dealer papers because I know my friend from sales...

Also, production is so limited at the moment, there is no way a single dealer can horde 7 of them... Limited truck, low sales dealer, high demand... Not a good combination...

I'm waiting 6-8 weeks for mine in SF... The dealer I'm dealing with has one on order already and Toyota won't let them order 2... The fleet put down an order and mine is after his... check toyota.com... I'm sure there are only black sand pearl, radiant red, and speedway blue...

Sounds like your dealer doesn't know the difference between an X-Runner and a Pre-Runner. XR's are offered only in black, red, and the new Speedway Blue. And with it being a brand new model (with price gouging being reported) I have a hard time believing you're getting it for less than list. Something's wrong....

there's a black on at my dealer.. pretty well loaded.. not too much.. but they want 26K for it... and like soeoen said here before the base is 23 on them

The guy I gave my deposit check to was the fleet mngr.... On the check I stated deposit for X-runner. I kept telling him a x-runner for 22,000 and he kept saying yes, yes, and yes. He even gave me the print out of the price out the door. ill see what happens but im not going down without a fight.

What fight? A deposite is not binding... Nothing is binding until you signed the papers to actually pay for the vehicle...

There is nothing at least by law that'll support you enough to have them give you a XR sadly...

However, speaking of which... How much did everyone pay for theirs?

MSRP is $23,805 apparetly... Like I stated before I'm getting mine for $23,505...

Yeah, there is so much non-information at the dealerships about the X-Runner, I have called 3 or 4 places and so far I am the most informed person (thanx to being here on customtacos.com), one guy told me they only build it 2 ways, with the 4WD package and with the sport package (?), one guy was like "huh?", I almost hung up on him, once I educated this one guy he was pretty cool though.....

He wasnt a salesman he was a fleet manager....
I called his ass again , I asked him again and again and again.... he said yeah x-runner i said six speed he said yes. Im thinking its not silver but it is a x-runner.

Like I said, nothing is binding... Also asking him if it's 6 speed or not dosen't help either... Every manual Taco sports a 6 speed...

I saw a black XR today at the dealer, a worker there bought it. Sweet truck. I want one but i never buy a first year run of a new model. I'll wait to see what the '06 upgrades are and see if they make more colors available.

The way i read it sounds like he said there were 7 '05 tacos and one is a red X-runner. I didn't get 7 X-runners from that.

yea its a base model, and IIRC, he got into an accident or something and conned the dealer into believing it was an xrunner and had them put a whole new kit on or something similar. Its still a 4cyl automagic.

Yeah it a 4 banger, he was at one of our meets last summer, when we got there we all went :jawdrop:, then figured it out that it was a phoney.

But it does look nice in silver

I had a silver 05 4banger and hurt the motor and knew it had to be an X but dreaded the colors. Never again a black truck and red in socal = tickets even if parked so swb it was.

i agree 100% man. speedway blue dudes is not a fast looking color.

they should have also had a lot more standard performance parts on the truck such as the big brake kit and supercharger to stay competitive to other trucks and performance cars etc.

advertising it A LOT more would have been a good thing too. i had no idea what one was when i saw it the first time and i've been subscribed to Motor Trend for 10 yrs...

I like the silver though, even if it is a kit car.:)
