OK, Im a new member but long time reader. I have a 2004 trd extra cab 4x4 v6. I put on the 3" cornfed spacers front and the 1.5 " pro crap aal's in the rear with the rancho shocks. The day after I put it on, I regretted ever lifting it. It rode like lumber wagon. I am ordering a new 2005 with the trd 4.0 and 6 sp manual. I am going to lift it but want it to retain it's stock ride characteristics. Which lift will I want to accomplish this? I have read so many of the posts that my head is spinning. any help is appreciated. Thanks

this is not really an answer to your question about the 05's
but more of a help/suggestion for your new lift on your 04....

any coilover for the front will give you the ride you're looking for. they are fully adjustable, so you can dial in the ride you need/want. as for the back, if you want ride, i'd stay away from an aal. if you're looking for a small lift (0-3/4 inches) you could go with a block/shackle combo. this will mostly retain stock ride. and dont go cheap on the shocks; a set of bilstien 5100s is the way to go imo. if money is not an issue, or if you are going for a big lift, go with a full leaf pack. i know Deaver makes them, and will custom make them for you. i think they can custom make the spring rate, which is what gives you you're ride. anyways, thats just my $.02 (seems like more).

DO NOT get blocks. Go with just shackles, they match fine with just coilovers up front.

5100s ARE cheap shocks. they are just the best cheap shock you can use in the stock mounting points.
if money is not an issue, or if you are going for a big lift, go with a full leaf pack. i know Deaver makes them, and will custom make them for you.
Deaver makes a leaf pack for 1.5" of lift, theyre not just for big lifts. If you can swing the $450 then get the Deaver leaf pack, it will give the best ride

So I guess I have decided to use the coilovers in front. Which ones are the best yet affordable? Who has the best price? As far as the rear, would lift blocks harshen the ride? What if I use blocks and bilsteins?

don't get lift blocks!!! they are gonna kill ur truck...get deaver full leafpack if you ahve the money it's about 450 bucks...i believe they can custom make'em for you...for as the coil-overs, they are all expensive, but well worth it. Donahoes are 950, camburgs are 950 i believe, i don't know how much are kings, SAW are about 500 i believe, all of them are good..but if you want the best you should consider either donahoes or camburgs..

Why get Deavers? Are you going to carry anything because if you do they will SUCK b/c they are too soft. You can get 3" lift full leaf pack from All Pro for $229 and $449 w/ 5100s.
