That first pic isn't with zaino but I wanted to throw it in there. I first washed with ultra dawn then claybarred the roof right behind the windshield. There was major overspray, but the clay got it out. After clay I washed it again and dried it using a chamois and microfiber towels. I didn't need to use the z5 because the paint is perfect and there are no swirls or spiderwebs. These pics are with 1 coat of z2. I will do two more coats of z2 tommorrow and add some day pics.

Make sure to hit the zoom button that pops up in the picture at the bottom right.

Isn't ultra dawn dishwashing liquid? If it is don't use it again it's really bad for car paint. The detergent in it removes the oils from the paint. The car paint specific washes are best especially when it's a brand new paint job. I recomend mequires car wash liquid. No wax for a year just wash it and call it a day.

i thought dishwashing soap was used to get off all the old wax?
then again a clay bar would do the same thing.

Dawn is not harmful for paint, but it will strip wax immediately. It doesn't strip Zaino though http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif What it will do is help get the shipping decontaminants off of it such as rail dust and pollen from transport (claybar reinforces this by removing any caked-in contamination). For a first-time application, Dawn is a wonderful thing. I don't recommend ever using it again though http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

i'm soooooo close to doing it. there are only 4 bolts that are holding on the thing blocking it. toyota made it insanly easy to make the scoop work, they had to want people to do it.

but the only thing stoping me from doing it is albert (fabtaco's) story about his hood scoop deforming because of the wind, and i'd kill my self if i [censored] up the hood because it was open.

so someone else with an XR do it and tell me how it works so i'll know if i should or not.
