Why is everyone referring to the new Tacoma as an X-Runner? Its not. If you have an
X-Runner then you have an X-Runner. If you have the new gen of Tacomas then you have a Tacoma only, not X-Runner.

Because the X-Runner was the only model Toyota unveiled 'in the flesh' back at the January '04 NAIAS, a lot of people equated the XR with the '05's in general. It wasn't unusual from then until the '05's actually arrived for people (including auto journalists) to mix up XR's and '05's overall. Maybe he's referring to that?
