I've been running premium since I got it. I had the tech who got it ready put premium in it as well. I'm getting close to 18 mpg.

If I can remember right I shifted into 6th gear at around 115. I use 6th gear when cruising on the freeway at 80. I'll get a video up tommorrow. Anyone want to host or know a place to host videos?

Well I found out the X can easily do 120 lastnight.
I was heading down 79 late lastnight and I was putting it down pretty good..I didnt mean to go 120 at all but by time I looked down and noticed I was. had alot of gear left to. I slowed it down right away cause i really didnt wanna go that fast. Atleast know truck can get to that speed pretty easy.

At that speed it still felt pretty smooth thats why i didnt realize it felt pretty much like I was doing 85-90 cause I usually do 80 on that road since it is a big highway

how do u know you are going past 120 if the spedo only gets to 120...does my truck suck and you guess have ones that read up to 140 or something

Do all 05 Tacos have 120 speedos? If so that sucks. Tbird Super Coupes got 145 speedos for 94/95 while the LX's got the 120s. Usually the performance version of a vehicles gets a few extra perks. yea i think that is stupid as well..I mean its supposed to be a performance truck..it should be able to do more then 120..Hell my old 3000gt was a non turbo one with the 222hp motor and its spedo went to 160. This XRunner is faster then that car was

I believe the speedo's are normally set to do whatever the tire can handle and the potenza's can handle speeds up to 149 MPH so think about that, maybe if someone had a radar gun and a long drag they could do that and tell us, but i've gone well above 124 in mine and i still had 1500rpm's on 5th gear and 6th gear left so.....

hahah its only a number, and no mine doesnt go higher but you can estimate how much past 120 you are. 160 for the 3000gt? i donno......even the 240 hp s2000 will only do 150, and that things a screamer...

I've had my truck well past 120 I believe. I crack it open on a high way and hit the 120 mark easy. Still had plenty of RPM's to go and watch the RPM's climb as well. Assuming the Speedo is accurate at 120 I would guess that I was doing 130 and still accelerating with RPM's to spair. I let off though cause I didn't want that ticket if I ran ito a cop, lol.

YES you do, I got a ticket for 95mph and just got a nice ticket but my sister did 110 and got those sweet bracletes you were talking about. they even took her back to town for nice hotel room and [censored].

Well--I have managed a few interesting events in my bone stock XR:
Best time at 1/4 mile 15.1+ @89+; best trap speed of 90+.
Chased down a late model Chevy Silverado SS at 110--I was gaining on him, then we both ran out of play room.
Kept dead even with a RX-8 at about 50--I aborted when I ran up on a wet spot in the road on a curve--not gonna risk wrecking this thing into him.
Beat out the best time of a modded (Suspension & engine) Dodge Dakota 5.9 R/T in auto crossing.
And of course, spanked numerous unsuspecting 4-cylinder-whatever-rice-boy cars--This truck is quick enough that any rice boy with a N/A four banger had better be packin' way better than stock to beat it in a straight line; and this thing can out manuver most any of them.
Finally, I read one of the '05 Pre-runner owners talking about a 109 speed govorner--So far I haven't found one on the XR, and I had this thing up to 115 once.
Unfortunately, the weight of this truck rears its ugly head when it comes to accelerating quickly. Need to thnk of some ways to put it on a bit of a diet.

Well i was one of the first few people on here who had their tranny replaced because of the flawed fifth gear, (which might happen again) and i dunno maybe i will try to get it that fast againa and see if i can hit the speed limiter or i'll have to wait till i get to willow springs.

I am sure we will figure out the speed limiter on the 05 XRunner, I just have not had the time to focus on that one yet. The concept is the same, just got to figure out where to intercept the signal and we should be all set, so please do not order one until I get it worked out.

Honda Accord speedo goes to 160 mph,
Nissan XTerra speedo goes to 140 mph
XRunner speedo goes to 120 mph

cause it's a truck and your also looking at the speedo and not where the governer is set. Toyota will always put there truck to 120ish just sit back and relaxe the unlimmiter should be here soon

topped mine out this morning on the highway. i must say that i was impressed. a few years ago i had a brand new vette and the x feels every bit as smooth and firm as that did.
