the sky is the limit as far as lifts are concerned...

And you'll definitely have no pep with 3.91 gears and 33's... regear to something like 4.88.

with a V6 you'll be fine with 4.56 gears and 33s. now that i think about it, wanna buy my rear end? cheaper than regearing. http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

yea mayn im from oxnard...so 300 huh...so what exactly are u trying to sell me? yea tell me about it some more and ill think about it

Kyle

i'm selling my whole entire rear axle. i just picked up a TRD rear end which has a locker in it, so i will soon be replacing my current rear end with this one, but i need to regear my new rear end and won't be able to do so until i make sure this rear end is sold. if you get a whole new rear end (which i am selling) all you do is take your rear end off and replace it with the new one. its cheaper than paying for gears and labor and theres no downtime. if you regear you'll lose your truck for a few days while its in the shop. this you can do in a couple hours.

it has 28,000 miles on it so far and 4.56 gears, that should be just fine with a V6 and 33s, but if not someone else will chime in. but the 4.56s are fine with my I4 and 32s. actually, right now i'm awaiting word on whether or not someone else is going to buy it. if he falls through, you can be next in line.

so is it the stock axle and u regeared it..? how hard is it to swap?

Kyle
06-02-2004, 10:39 PM
its a stock axle with stock gearing. mine are just different from yours. i have 4.56s stock.

i've never done it, but the swap should be just a couple hours worth of work.

how old is the axle? what kind of truck did it come off of and what year?

Kyle
06-02-2004, 10:45 PM
its off my 03 Double Cab, it has 28,000 miles. the only reason i'm getting rid of it is i just picked up a TRD rear end with a locker in it (lots more $$$$$). but all taco axles are interchangable.

like i said before, another person has dibs. if he falls through you're next in line. i should find out tomorrow. http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

ohh ok will it make a difference ? is it still compatible with my V6?

yeah, its compatible. i just need a higher gear ratio stock because of my smaller engine, whereas you can have a lower gear ratio with your V6. but when upgrading your tires to a larger size you'll need to upgrade to a higher gear ratio.

ive read posts about people doing sumthin with their CV's after lifting their truck..whats that about?

Kyle
06-02-2004, 11:00 PM
dunno really, thats a 4x4 problem, i don't have CVs to worry about. http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

oh yeah, if you're interested in the rear end or have any questions about it we should take it to PMs so we don't make lots of posts here. so PM me with questions/concerns. with non-rear end q's just feel free to keep posting, obviously.

would i have to worry about it since i dont have a 4x4? do u got a lift on ur truck?

Kyle
06-02-2004, 11:03 PM
if you are a prerunner you don't need to worry about CVs, they are on 4x4s.

i do have a lift. i have King coilovers in the front and deaver leaf packs in the rear.
