2005 X-RUNNER picturesjoser 02-04-2004, 03:58 PM Heres the xrunner @ www.toyota.com (http://www.toyota.com) I like the S this has the 3.5v6 AFP520 02-04-2004, 06:04 PM its 4.0 v6 and continue posting here... http://www.customtacos.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=228549&page=0&view=collap sed&sb=5&o=186&fpart=1 SlipperyTaco 02-04-2004, 06:11 PM I have to say I like it. But its not an S Runner. slamdtaco 02-04-2004, 07:34 PM from what I read X-Runner uses the proven Toyota 3.0-litre all-alloy VVT-i engine equipped with Toyota's own supercharger (optional). EDIT: just read, this is the austrailian version that has already ben out. guess they can't make up their minds. maybe the above was just for the prototype. http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif Power will be provided by a four-liter, 240 horsepower V6 engine with 275 pounds of torque and a six-speed close-ratio manual transmission. hawaii 02-04-2004, 07:41 PM 240 hp v6 and 0-60mph in 7 sec. it has to have a S/C.... hawaii 02-04-2004, 07:46 PM 2/nd attachment..... AFP520 02-04-2004, 08:21 PM 240 hp v6 and 0-60mph in 7 sec. it has to have a S/C.... thats with no s/c... our s/c s-runners are right around just under 6.0 for 0-60 http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif fltacoma 02-04-2004, 08:44 PM it also said that it comes with the lsd as standard, so that's how it get's the 0-60 in 7 seconds.and the 6 speed is nice......i wonder if you could take off the black bar on the front to leave more of an open feel, if you were to say, turbo it http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angel.gif FlyinS 02-05-2004, 12:29 AM I think the photos look good http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif. Sounds like a great truck with impressive power and cornering (9g+). http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif Too bad it's so big. http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif Hate to see the small truck go http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif. I just like the turning radius, numbleness, easy parking, and power to weight advantages of the small trucks. Anyone know how much it weighs? http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thinking.gif Souper Charged 02-05-2004, 01:55 AM i give u thumbs up for the motor and trans, but styling is ugly IMO. the front end looks like [censored] compared to the Srunner. Maybe with aftermarket grilles it would be better. it doesnt look like a toyota anymore. Enola Gaia 02-05-2004, 06:20 AM I'm less-than-enthusiastic, but I'm willing to wait on more evidence before making a final judgement. First impressions.... Ricer version of an F-150; unholy cross-bred spawn of a Matrix and a domestic pickup... Absent the body mass of a 4Runner, all those contour lines look like 'busy' ornamentation. Some of the pics available so far (especially the one on the CT home page) are not flattering - they make the XR seem unbalanced and ungainly. I keep thinking of that one 'authentic' spy shot of the prototype '05 Taco (snowy landscape, front end covered up) where the overall package seemed visually 'patchworked'. OK, I thought - just a side effect of patching together parts for a mule. The photo angles I've seen so far seem to confirm that the patchwork aesthetics (all parts; no smooth whole to it) were for real. Yecchhh!... To be fair, I'll wait and see what further photo evidence seems to indicate... In the mean time I'll keep telling myself this is the (over-the-top) sport version, and maybe the 'generic' Taco will be less baroque. Racerx336 02-13-2004, 09:00 AM No S/C - "Power will be provided by a four-liter, 240 horsepower V6 engine with 275 pounds of torque and a six-speed close-ratio manual transmission. For buyers looking for an added boost over this already impressive powertrain, a TRD-developed, fully factory warranted supercharger system will be offered, capable of providing output in the neighborhood of 300 horsepower. The Tacoma X-Runner will be capable of zero-to-60 acceleration in seven seconds, with times reduced by more-than an additional second with the optional supercharger system ." I guess It would look better and cleaner without the body kit though. I would have to see . . | |
