i have an 01 taco 4x4 sr5 2.7 xtracab. it has no lift and i don't plan on lifting it and i'm keeping the stock tire size but i want a nice set of wheels. would a 16x8 rim fit with 4 7-16" backspacing work? i know stock is 4.5" but would that extra 1/16th of an inch hurt me?

Stock is 4.5", but thats on a 16X7 ( stock 4x4 size).
I know that on a 16X8 wheel with 4 5/8'' ( 4.625) with stock 265/70/16 BFG rubber mounted on a 01 TRD 4X4 will fit fine and not stick out past the fenders flares.
You want to run a 16X8 with 4 5/8" (4.437) of backspacing
I can only compare the wheels you want with what mine were and the difference is .187'' or about 4.75MM. Best thing to do is search on TTORA, they have a huge wheels that fit article in their tech section that could answer your question,

Are the wheels you want 16X8 Mickey Thompsons? Try checking this old thread out, I think you might be OK

yeah the wheels i'm looking at are the black m/t classic 2's. i don't care if they stick out a bit. my concern is if they will rub on anything
