Balboa 06-01-2009, 06:40 AM I have been talking with a huge vendor that has taken interest in obtaining coilover sets for our XRs. Talked with him for an hour and a half. Searching the internet and calling coilover producers. I will probably be installing the prototype set here soon. Not sure but looks very possible. If you are interested please speak up. :waytogo:
h0odrich 06-01-2009, 09:17 AM will these work with a DJM drop?
Balboa 06-01-2009, 10:28 AM The vendor will be watching this thread to see if it is worth the hassle.
blackedout_taco_stidham 06-01-2009, 11:35 AM will these work with a DJM drop?
why wouldnt it? the djm drop doesnt effect the struts/springs on the stock setup at all, why would it effect the coilovers?
sparkys tacoma 06-01-2009, 12:18 PM About time Paul after all the conversations. Do it and did you discuss about spring rate and drop ability. :waytogo:

Tony who works with DJM was trying to get something done about this also. He does alot of setups for the SS trailblazers and thinks he could do something for ours too. He posted up on here a while back trying to be a vendor havent checked to see if he is although hes a vendor on XRU
h0odrich 06-01-2009, 02:22 PM The vendor will be watching this thread to see if it is worth the hassle.
well obviously not all the x-runner owners are members here.
You will have to start a thread at xr-u.com about this in order for the "vendor" to wonder if it is worth the hassle.
Balboa 06-01-2009, 03:21 PM will these work with a DJM drop?Sorry I did not post back to ya earlier but I hate surfing and posting on the I-Phone. Loads slow and to small of a keyboard compared to my super sonic desktop. Yes I do not see a problem with the DJM.
why wouldnt it? the djm drop doesnt effect the struts/springs on the stock setup at all, why would it effect the coilovers? Thanks for the input.
About time Paul after all the conversations. Do it and did you discuss about spring rate and drop ability. :waytogo:Yes. We are working on spring rate. If anyone has any input I am all ears.

oh and you should change the title. these would not only work for X-runners, but all 5-lug 2005+ tacomas.
spread the word people. we NEED these. :waytogo:

07SWB 06-01-2009, 08:15 PM Maybe disclosing a company name would help out.. Big company? small company?

heylookatthatblackXRunner 06-02-2009, 12:45 AM Count me in... Boo on bump stop suspension!!!
And you think you can seek out an anti-bumpsteer kit too?
Balboa 06-02-2009, 05:49 AM Maybe disclosing a company name would help out.. Big company? small company?Huge company. But by the turnout in this thread it seems that as usual it is a bunch of lookers. I don't know how many times I have read " Hell yea coilovers FTW yea yea let's do it " so now we have a huge vendor willing to get this in motion and now it looks like mommy and daddy have cut back on their weekly allowance.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: Oh well I will just pay for some one offs and screw the kiddies.
speckdzl4shzl 06-02-2009, 07:36 AM Well your Taco sits an inch higher stock but probably will work. :)
no no no. no probably, definitely. my truck only sits an inch higher STOCK because the XR's come with de-arced leaf springs and a shorter spring up front. anything that bolts onto an X-Runner will fit on my truck. i know this because i've done so to my truck (and i bet i could out handle your weak azz truck:cool::D). no modifications required.
oh and don't worry about the lookers. they will buy eventually once they see how much people are going to like these....pending it happening of course.
i know there are A LOT of guys that have been waiting for coilovers for quiet some time. if they're made they'll definitely be a hot item.

DoDSOURCE 06-02-2009, 01:33 PM Id be interested if the price was right
x2 :waytogo:
h0odrich 06-02-2009, 02:18 PM you cant just bring this up..and not even bring a price range.. or think that everyone is on here.
you gotta spread the rumor balboa if you really want this to happen.
i am not gonna post on xr-u because i have no information on this coilovers etc.
post this on xr-u and tacomaworld.
TunedX 06-02-2009, 04:42 PM Whats the price range like? I think the big issue if u go with a 2" drop is getting alignment in spec. Would this be issue with coil overs?
Balboa 06-02-2009, 04:49 PM Whats the price range like? I think the big issue if u go with a 2" drop is getting alignment in spec. Would this be issue with coil overs?2" is the max. Not sure on price yet and depends on adjustability.

ryanjboutin 07-14-2010, 10:21 PM If a pair is $500 or less, I'm in, even though I just bought a brand new XR front suspension.
I guess I'll wait a little longer to install the springs and struts.
