Where to find black 3rd brake?

Im working on murdering my truck but cant find the 3rd break light. Any ideas to do it myself, or where to find one...i looked on ebay.

:looney:if you going to murder your truck then let me get some parts i need first! j/k, i painted my rear tail lamp lenses and 3rd brake light lens. it is fairly simple to do and inexpensive. you can try to use the "SEARCH" option in the site menu and look up on how to black out your taillights.

I agree - the most straightforward approach is to tint / paint your OEM third brake light lens rather than waiting until you find an 'off-the-shelf' version.

VHT Nite Shades has been a popularly recommended product for dark tinting in the past, but there are other products and strategies ...

i used vht nite shades on everything on my truck. i love it! someone told me its illegal though. havnt been pulled over yet...:waytogo:

Good luck with that. It might block a lot if not ALL the light coming from it. I recommend Pactra R/C black window tint spray paint that you can get at any hobby store. It comes in a 3oz can... you won't even need that much but it's enough for the job.

you can get a 12oz can of nite shades on ebay for like $15 shipped
i put 4 coats of nite shades on my stuff and its completely black untill i turn my lights on.
i only used half the can for tail lights, 3rd, corners and blinkers.
i sold what i didnt use to a friend haha

ps. if you do get nite shades put it on in reallly thin coats it runs very easy. learned this the hard way on my front blinkers

uh.....spray the outside, i heard its better if you paint ONE thick layer rather than a multiple coats.

i tried one thick coat on my blinkers
and when my blinkers come on its just runs
the paint doesnt adhere very well
if its too cold out then the paint will crack in the drying process
so id go 4 thin coats in warm weather
or read the label haha

NOOOOOOO... dont spray the outside. Inside is the way to go. It's not rocket science, take a phillips-head screwdriver and screw those suckers off. then spray the inside. I did a small write-up here, of mine. (didn't black em out but you get the picture)

oh really? damn... yeah I guess the tail lights come off differently than the 95-04s. Talk to beastbluetaco. He can help you out, I actually went to him for advice on tinting my tails. Do a search on "tinted tails" or "tinted tail lights".. you might be able to find a pic he posted.

Ihad a cop that doesn't like my friends follow me, i made two lane changes and stopped at a red light. He was behind me the whole time. I used krylon spray paint to black out my lights and i didn't get a ticket.
