I have my daughter this weekend and will be installing the X-1 ECU and timing exhaust gears. $hit yes, I'll run. I'm sure there's others in the area that would like to go too. Let's go when you get all ready. I'd happily lose, if you can beat me.

Hey Balboa, how much horsepower are you making man? The Infiniti G37 puts out 330 HP from a 3.7L V6 (of course the factory already did the work of hooking it up), I figure an XR should be able to do a minimum 370hp all - motor.

I now have gears and am installing the NEW X-1 ECU this weekend. Allan Phillips told me I should see a gain of 30 HP and 20 Torque. And this is with stock exhaust. Anyone that knows my truck will tell ya it is not stock. So he told me with the opened up exhaust that I will see more HP and more torque. I will get it tuned also which then again produce more HP ON TOP OF THE 30-40 HP. I'm so happy.:runaway:

its kind of anoying that u clame to have the "fastest N/A Tacoma" i wouldnt get so agravated if you posted proof or somthing. So can u please stop delaying the inevitible (is that how u spell it?) and run your stuff so everyone can laugh at how c0cky ur being?

ok so from 236 to 200 is 15% loss therefore 280 is 238. Thats without this tuner cam gears t stat and new tune. He should easily clear 300 at the motor. Add cam and a lil headwork and rockers and injectors etc thats prob 340-360 motor. And that gets 300rwhp. Go for it Paul. I mean Mr. Guinea

im sorry but if im not mistaken, he has as much money as a s/c truck has into it and a s/c truck is still faster..

seems to me like youre doing things backwards. Get the s/c THEN the accessories for it. I wouldnt be suprised if you went to get a s/c installed and had the new ECU plugged in and the dealership laughed at you. I know here at my dealership they would.

Also, as stated before, some kind of proof would be nice. And once again, the truck can have 400hp and if you suck at driving it, its not gonna do any better than one with 250hp.

vietenamesse whore??? Damn time to retire. My dak with auto had mid 200rwhp and mid 300rwtq. It ran a 13.92. Auto hard launch not too much in trac issues. So if we can get those motor numbers set get trac and a lil more low end tq. Thats s/c times. Hey if a cam is in the making how about a s/c cam. If your gonna f/i in the end careful cause a n/a cam can lose ponies under a s/c

depends on tubing diameter and the CFM of the engine at a given rpm.

crush bends in a tube will have no effect on power if the tubing diameter is sufficient for the CFM of the engine. all comes down to fluid dynamics and pressure.

i proved this to a guy with a crushed bent 2.5 inch dual exhaust on a V8 that flowed around 800 CFM. it made no difference on the dyno using the full exhaust, and then changing it to a straight tube the same length of tubing of the crush bent exhaust. ( with the same mufflers on both )

but for some reason, people got this idea that it is manditory to have mandrel bends in order to get top performance... they also do not understand fluid dynamics either.

daveDave, I have heard it time and time again from the members that really know nothing on exhausts that without mandrell bends that my exhaust is no good. :looney: Well I drive it everyday and after the exhaust was done I noticed a good gain and am glad I did it. With you looking at my exhaust what would you do to it to improve it?

sparkys tacoma
08-01-2008, 06:18 PM
kinks can cause turbulence which can taker away from the potential of your system. But with out a F/I a mandrel 3" would kill our system, Thats mostly V8 and 300 plus pony area. I think dave would agree that for now your exhaust is fine, BUTT when you get more pony a lot more go mandrel.

You know I was looking at the exhaust on my Bike and I believe its a 3" mandrel. And heck I am running race pipes. Thats a liter motor so why not have a bigger pipe and let the muffler do its job and let that be the determining factor.

And children play nice. No name calling. or we'll be overly moderated soon as well :brickknoc
