I changed the brake pads and resurfaced the rotors. I applied anti brake squeal to the pads. But they are still squeeking. I also hear a hollow metal sound when I reverse and when I stop at stoplights. Can anyone help?

maybe your rear shoes are worn as well?

Spray them down with brake cleaner and check the warning sensor tab thingies..... http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

Sounds like you may be missing your "shims." You can buy a set of shims for the front brakes at Pep Boys for like $8.00. I'm not positive that is the problem, but it will surely help with the squeaking.

Where do the shims go?

Shims go on the back sides of each of the pads (there are four of them). You should put some anti-squeal on the backs of the shims and inbetween the pads - shims. I'll try to take a picture later today

The pads I bought only came with 2 shims and I did put the anti squeal on them. So I guess Im supposed to get another 2 shims for the other pads? My rear drums are still making noise. Thanks for your input.
