I was going to change it, but it looked and felt new. I am assuming that the guy who bought it before me changed them recently, but could it be that worn diff and tranny oil dont wear like motor oil? Could it be that they are worn and shoudl be changed?
Anyone know?

If it still looks clear, then it should be ok. Change it if you have any doubt , the oil isnt expensive
If it's foamy, change it.

That depends on what you go with. I shelled out about $90 for the tranny and diff fluids. I went all Synthetic though so it was considerably more expensive than standard fluids.

Can you change from regular tranny/diff oil to synthetic tranny/diff oil, will anything be harmed? http://www.CustomTacos.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

I changed my tranny & differential fluids about 3 months ago. I used synthetic for both at first, but shifting became EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. I replaced the synthetic in the tranny with regular gear oil and i'm still having some shifting problems, but not as bad. I hope the synthetic stuff isn't bad for the syncs.

I put synthetic in my tranny and diff and it seemed smoother. I dunno if it was ever changed (changed at 90,000) but I like it now! I don't think synthetics would harm syncros tho.
